Magnus help

How do you get the coins to buy the tyrants?
I've killed both hard and normal magnus but gotten none of the shiny coins that are used to buy tyrants

@imshocute:
It seems to be the same people who tried the same thing with CRA drops and trying to keep the instanced drops/drops in general a secret. Part of me understands why they would withhold that info, as naturally making more profit would be the point of going on a Hard Magnus run and at that point of funding it would be natural to feel entitled to more rewards I guess. You're right though, there's simply not enough people who can down Hard Magnus, let alone with 3 people or less to make a huge impact on the prices.
Here's what I've heard from someone who does Hard Maggie weekly. The Magnus Coins drop from Hard Magnus, however much like CHT he has a drop requirement that you need to meet. This makes sense because on SouthPerry, theres several SSes that show the loot, but crops out the rest of the party, death counter, and timer which are all important parts of getting drops. One person in particular went on 12x drop and didn't get anything, while others were able to get drops by withholding this information for more profit. First off, your party needs to consist of 3 or less people. Any more and you won't get any drops. Secondly, the timer needs to be at 10 minutes or less, so if he's almost dead, try to stay dead for a bit to wait it through. Finally, your death counter needs to be at 10 or below. After all of this is met, then he drops Tyrant capes, and Magnus coins. Each Tyrant equip costs 250 coins and it takes a while to save up, so generally most of your profit will come from the capes.
nice summary of hard magnus. don't know why people are withholding info, it's a very small handful of people who can even down hard magnus anyways.

Actually each Tyrant costs 70 Magnus coins.

Hard Magnus drops 6 Magnus coins and 6 shadow coins everytime is killed(this amount is flat and hence not affected by drop modifiers) plus the other drops such as tyrant capes and nova/elite gear, all of them which are affected by drop modifers. So you are right, most of the profit will come from the capes as 12 runs(12 weeks) are needed to buy a single Tyrant item from the store.

Well if you can kill Hard Magnus, you can definitely kill gollux. Hard Mode magnus has more HP than it anyway.

@meyersultan:
Here's a rough idea of what to expect at around 8~10x drop: http://www.southperry.net/showthread.php?t=80&page=276
I'd say that around 2-3 capes on 1x or 2x would be about average, but generally with Hard Magnus I'd imagine that you'd want to get the most out of his drops as humanly possible lol.

I can certify this as being correct, You kill magnus until he is almost dead and wait till 10 minutes or less is left, then kill. Capes drop, and between 2-5 coins do as well, on 1x.

Edit: Its actually 70 coins instead of 250, and drop multipliers only affect the Tyrant capes and helisium/nova drops/other crap. Thanks @canerias

If you go on Sat/Sun between 12pm-9pm pst, up until March 23, there is 2x drop rate. Combined with an easter egg buff that'll give you 4x at least.

I hear that hard magnus is much much harder than hell gollux, so if u can do hard mag, you should be able to do hell gollux fairly easily.

I've never managed to kill hard, but those coins are supposed drop from it O.o. Maybe they just have a really low drop rate.
