Math Quadratic Help

I can't seem to come up with the answer. I need some workings to understand please.
I hate doing math on computer but I really need to know how the hell this works.

I think I got it now, I couldnt see the X^2-4 could factor.
Ehh I can't be bothered working this out, but try putting it all to the same base, make the equation equal to 0, move the bottom part over (would still equal to 0), then factor from there on?
set the denominators the same on both sides and solve.
Yes, but this equation is just BS.
Well, do you know how to factor or "FOIL"?
