MapleStory should have a Main Story/Quest Line

As in this, i mean Maple should have a basic quest line that starts off by shows what the purpose of the maplers life is ( to become the strongest hero, to fight black mage, to protect ect.. ) as lvl 1 beginner, till level 200 pro (with every 5 levels a new quest with DECENT exp rewards also) . Now this should be for Beginners. and branch off individually, if your a mage, warrior, theif, pirate or bowman. Then depending on your class, you would have a whole different quest line (sorta similar in ways) and would give u bonuses and rewards specialized for your class. ( a medal, or certain special equips ect...)

Example: Born to be the Maple Worlds strongest hero > Then you help certain NPCs to build rep> you do certain errands for your class instructor (Theif- Dark Lord
, Mage- Grendle the Old ect..) > fight certain quest line bosses, exclusive for the main quest line > (you get the point and can carry the story on ...)

I also think the main reason also would to be giving us more things to do, and have a more of a purpose than training hard and killing bosses. we should have a real story with out game ( even though we already have a story but its not really well said in-game you would have to read about it and such)

I know what i said may not make 100% sence but im trying to relate to such quest lines like in Diablo 3, or Skyrim/Oblivion/Fallout.

Maplestory and nexon should consider this idea even if it would take time and effort, cause i could see this being something all us maplers would enjoy, so we can at least follow the game in a way, have something other to do and have a real story , in MapleStory.
I think what Miller57 is actually saying is that: yeah its fun that Cygnus, aran, evan etc... have story line quests, but they all stop at around 70 or 80 then you never see one again untill 120 and 200 or some ridiculous gap like that. Sure I would enjoy an adventurer plot, but Nexon still needs to at least make ONE class with a CONSTANT story line every 5 levels all the way to 200, not one every 40 levels.
Yea that is what im trying to say, because yea cygnus and resistance and the heros have there own story line, but its either really not required to follow, and its not very rewarding. I would like to see some twist as in were all the maplers in the end are one team ( explorers together, resistance together and the heros together ) all fighting maybe a certain end game boss depending on class ( or all of fight black mage together?)

I also think if ANYTHING they should make more theme dungeons ( lvl 100+ ones too), because such things liek Mushroom Kingdom, and Chryse, they have a nice story with it and i love doing them despise the lack of exp and rewards.|

Also to the people who agree and like how its "your own story" because you can do what ever you like, well you still can, just dont accept the quest and when your bored one day, you ill have something to do thats fun.

The only way for quests to be interesting is if nexon actually puts proper rewards in them because some people just don't like story lines in maple story, they are boring. All nexon has pretty much proven is that they suck and can't think of a way to make people interested in a storyline. Sadly enough the way your explaining how nexon should implement story lines for each class would take up time and money. People might not be interested unless they make it so you have to finish them in order to enter certain towns or maps but then that would frustrate people. Nexon just wants to put content that they know will make them more money like new classes.

^ that

OT: People would do more quests but they give so litle exp and are not very fun. Thee above is true or they wouldn;t of made the "dbl quest exp" nx things.

Anybody know if they danas an such are stll only one day items?

a plot would take away from the "you can do whatever you want whenever you want" theme of the game
also, don't forget that this is a mmorpg
Explorers don't have a main quest line because at the start of the game, and even now, they're just explorers.

There were some short quest lines in place in every city, and there are NPCs linked to one another in a series of quests. There are also areas with specific quest lines that deal with its history or a problem they're facing. As an explorer, you're free to go to these areas and act as a member of that story.

But then there are the other classes.
Cygnus have their own little quest line.
Arans, Evans, and Mercedes have their main questlines and purpose.
And Resistance has its questline and purpose.

These are the specific classes that were created for a reason in Maple's story. The explorers however are the equivalent of citizens. They just exist.

There was never a story to begin with.
"Maplestory, its YOUR story" -Nexon is not responsible. They probably thought a game wont need a story if everyone spends money on it so much. And dont throw "But we have the story of black mage" bullshlaha. It's not a story. It's a random bunch of videos and cuts that show the black mage (which popped out of nowhere after BigBang).
Every game has a story, a main quest line to follow which reveals additional parts of random stories when you do some sub quests, to finish the whole picture.
We got tons of quests that you dont even need to do, at all, ever.
The black mage story appeared in the Pirate patch(2008 I believe?), however I do agree that the story popped out of nowhere...

I'd love to see a true defined storyline I mean looking at Phantom's background story and all of the other new classes; Nexon could turn this into something really nice. I wish they would pay to have their anime re-done so it looks like the KMS videos.

Juust chucking this out there, the Black Mage came along with Aran, which was before BB.

OT: We did have storylines(bad ones at that, with more plotholes than swiss cheese) but they were taken out(4th job skills did have storylines once upon a time and there was a time where we embarked on an epic adventure to get those ridiculous job hats + the wild eye mask. Oh goddess that thing was ugly). People got lazy. That's the truth of it.

It does sound nice, but it'd detract from the ability to do whatever the hell you want whenever you want.
Unless they're optional, which quests always are. But if the rewards are good, people feel forced into it. And that's never good.
