Cast shadow copypasta is a must when you're too lazy to make an actual background (which is approximately 100% of the time in my case).
Anyway, I think this style is awesome! Not that I didn't love the cutesy animu, but the fact that you can pull off both styles so well is amazing. Definitely inspired me to experiment more.
