MapleStory and windows 8
I have been trying since last night to download this game on my new computer. Does ms not work on Windows 8? I get as far as downloading the Maplestory downloader, but when that finishes the Install wizard shield does not pop up. Anyone good with computers that can help me?

It works fine on my computer, if not better actually. I actually used an old version of MapleStory (v.125) and put it onto my computer and installed it.
Windows 8 is backwards compatible meaning it can run most of the programs from 7, Vista, and XP. Maybe try adjusting the compatibility mode to Windows 7 or try right clicking and run as admin. Or like the the first post, try Steam too.
As for Windows 8, it's user friendly. You just need to get used to it. Everything on Windows 8 is more smooth in my opinion, and a lot more faster when boot up on my computer used to take a minute with Windows 7. Now it starts up in 10 seconds.
i downloaded it fine on windows 8 and im from england so steam wasn't even an option, also i find windows 8 fairly user friendly
I've seen screen shots that are of people playing maple on windows 8. so its definitely possible. but i have no solution. sorry
Alright will try it through Steam, and dillibert I would love to go back to Windows 7, Windows 8 is not very user friendly....
Edit: Crazymaster: I tired doing that first it did work but the resolution was all wrong and it was hard for me to play, and yes I tried to fix it through the System options in-game which didnt make it better.
Download Maple on an older version of Windows. Move the [b]entire[/b] Nexon folder (not just the shortcut like some fools do) to a UBS drive and then copy it onto your Windows 8 computer. If you do it like this, chances are that you'll have trouble launching it from the website, so launch it from the GameLauncher application inside the Nexon folder instead.
