Making a BaM, need some tips

EDIT: Fixed a typo that made the sentence look like if "I" was a hacker. I'll save my thoughts for myself

So, after much thought, I decided that I'll make a BaM after Chaos patchs, seeing they don't get any nerfs out of it. WHs just look so...meh (I don't want 50 people calling me a hacker just because I'm "A WILD HUNTER&quot and Mechs gears are awfully expensive

What do you suggest me for the long and treacherous road that awaits me 'til lvl 100 at least? I have a fully-geared lvl 60 Evan, so I'm not going to run short of equips for half of the ride at least. Also, it's unlikely that I'll get a zhelm on this 'til I can zakum on it, so if possible I would like some tips about that too. I'm not transfering my evan's zhelm, I already had to 4 times and it's an absolute pain... (blame Nexon for not releasing NX cards here in Mexico)

I have 15m in funding so I don't have money for godly stuff, put those aside. I would rather like some basic stuff that get me ongoing with training.

Hope you can help me with this, I really don't wanna screw up on this one. Now, if you excuse me, I gotta empty one of my mules and delete it...again. Thanks beforehand
1) I see. It seems I'll have a hard pick between blacksmith and crafter. I'll probably go for blacksmith, since everyone will make a crafter for the previous event-only equips like shoulders

2) I already have a zhelm, I said that I used the free 5k maple points to pass over my Evan's zhelm to my BaM. It's 15 all stats, but it does the job. I'm considering on getting a somewhat decent Dark Ritual to last me 'til Doomsday Staff. As for LUK, I'll just add enough for 80 total, and start working on it again once I get to lvl 98 (5 levels should be enough to give me a nice AP cushion in case I manage to get an Ele Staff)

3) I'll just go for INT scrolling on earrings then. Do anyone know the price of both 60% INT and LUK scrolls for earrings? I got 1 or 2 of LUK ones, so I wanna maximize the outcome.

Again, thanks for the help

EDIT: I really want to know this. What's the major appeal of getting an Ele Staff for a BaM? Is it the attack speed or the elemental bonus? If it is the second, what element do you recommend me to get?
1) Crafter is best if you think you can max it during the event to get a Dark Angelic Blessing Ring Recipe. If not.... all three skills have uses.

2) Ah. Didn't see that part about the Zhelm. Other good equips are a HTP (although that is way out of your price range...) Evo Ring I Lvl 17 and Evo Ring II Lvl 17 go a long way towards helping out with secondary stats as well but if you don't already have them they aren't cheap either (especially Evo Ring I lvl 17).

3) Don't know prices sorry.

4) The appeal of an E-Staff is the speed. The elemental Advantage/Penalty doesn't affect BaMs at all because our attacks are neutral. So you can get any number staff and be just fine (although technically E-Staff 1 is the best since it gives +2 INT and the others give some luk and less int but the difference is miniscule and your best bet is to get whichever is cheapest). The speed difference is enough so that even a clean or failscroll staff is way better than any but the best of scrolled slow staves. If you have enough Matk from other gear even a clean one is better than a perfect VIP. If you have the money there is literally no reason not to have an E-Staff.
1) Blacksmithing is used to make most equips. Crafter is for things like shoulder and ring and accessories like that. Alchemy is for potions (including awesomely powerful ones and amazingly cool ones mixed in with the junk).

2) Easiest way to get more luk would be a Zhelm but 20mil won't buy you that. If you have any higher level friends/guildmates see if they can bring you along for a Z-run.

3) Earring for int scrolls give Matk so always scroll earrings for int. Even 100% scrolls from an NPC give 1 Matk per scroll.
I actually have another question, this time regarding equips

Thanks to Nexon messing up with the servers, I used the 5k maple points to transfer my Evan's zhelm. I currently have 77 luk (41+36), take away 3 that come from robe and shoes since those are the most likely to change, leaving me with a reliable 74 total LUK. Any suggestions on how I can increase my luk a bit more without increasing my base one? I already have these:

-Medal (+2)
-Deputy Star (+5)
-Max Evo Ring (+7)
-Glasses (+1)
-Old Lilin Ring (+3)

I was thinking on making high luk shoes once we get profession skills, but I really don't understand how they work, so I'm not sure which professions would be the ones I need to pick. Blacksmith, alchemist or crafter? Also, if new Resistance Ring stacks with old Lilin's, add 3 more LUK to that.

If it would be way too expensive to get a bit more luk (I only have 20m funding left), then I'd rather increase my base luk instead. If that's the case, what would be a good number to cap it for the lvl 103 Ele staff?

Oh, and my earrings have +2% INT pot, unscrolled. Should I scroll them for LUK, or go for INT?

@happyboyd: Probably funded. I see a sauna. Probably lukless or low luk too.

@Industrializer

I'm afraid I'm oblivious of those "methods" you call, aside of buying it from other people. Surveys don't work anymore (not for me at least), so yeah, if you can enlighen me there...

Also, silly me, patch is at midnight, not midday. Time to pwn with my new BaM

I think I can survive without an Ele staff. Heck, if I actually manage to reach that point, may as well just change main characters...lol

The main issue is still a zhelm, but only time will tell how I manage myself without one. In any case, I'm not planning on getting anywhere beyond 67 base luk, since I can get at least 13 luk from my current common equips (deputy, rings, glasses). That should be enough for a Doomsday Staff

Such a shame that my Cromi will be useless though, since BaM is staff-only if I'm not mistaken

All right, too late right now to start my new char, so guess I'll get on it after update. Thanks everyone for your help, I'll be checking around the sticky guide thread here to prepare beforehand
Yep, that exactly. I already fixed that typo, and ate up the need of trolling...lol

Ah, Khaini. I'm way too hooked to Bera now though, seeing ores are going to be useful with all the new profession updates, not to mention my funding. Thanks for the offer anyway

From what I understand, BaMs have excellent mobility, are great at mob killing, and have an above average attack. Their only con being the somewhat slow start (according to a friend) and poor at 1v1. Am I right with this, or my thoughts are severely biased? Also, do the new ring stacks with the Evolving Ring 1? I know it doesn't with the other job-oriented ones, but not sure with that other one

I'm mainly making it just to try something new and having an alt char to take breaks from my sader. "Yelling" to pirates can be quite tiring after 3 hours D:

Thanks everyone for your tips. Your thoughts pretty much sealed the deal. Time to prepare the stuff to transfer from my Evan

EDIT: Forgot to ask one last thing. If I start my BaM right now, will I miss any incoming event with this patch? I know the ring one starts at lvl 40, but it really worries me that I end up missing it just because I made the char before patch
That is a pretty good description of BaMs. High level funding does get crazy expensive but if you don't worry about E-Staff 5-8 it isn't as bad.

The new rings should stack with Evo-Rings since those are not job rings.

Ironically enough I made my BaM as a break from my level 105 at the time Sader. Now my Sader is 112 and my BaM is 150. I barely play my sader anymore to be honest. Be careful the class doesn't spoil you with it's awesomeness and make any other class seem less fun.

The Boom Up! Event will work fine with pre-chaos characters. You will just need to level 40 times from whatever level you are (as long as you are level 40 or higher) or get to 40 and then level 40 times if you are under 40 when the patch hits. A level 160 could do it if they wanted to (and could get to 200 in the time we have). The thing is that it is way easier to level from 1-80 than it is from say 80-120. So if the Resistance Lux Ring is important to you then don't level too much past 40 I guess.
@Splashy: Exactly, it just requires a little patience in the beginning. But, it becomes sort of a kick-back class from how fun it can get constantly teleporting and slapping around monsters.
You don't At level 18ish i could1.5(3xBl0w+Finisher) kill skeletons
Don't worry about equipment on your Battle Mage. Just go ahead and make one. You're pretty much set. If anything, "better" equips don't matter until you hit triple digits.
I think you might like Battle Mages. Interesting choice I say since most people are making the revamped stuff for the new Update. Haha.
Pretty much this. I second it.

In addition, BaMs are just fun in my opinion. It's my second favorite class next to my Evan. You'll find out once you hit level 85 or so.
