I agree, most rappers today dont compare to the past. Its all about opinion.
Funny how you wrote the thread as if it isn't common knowledge that Lil Wayne is terrible.
Honestly though, I am tired of people that call Lil Wayne trash but then act as if Eminem or Tupac or Biggie are the gods of all time or something.
Eminem died out a decade ago and is a shell of what he used to be, Tupac was really basically an average rapper that sometimes had nice thoughtful connotations behind his songs, and Biggie did have a few good songs, but nothing to make him best of all time.
I also personally don't like Lupe Fiasco, Immortal Technique, or Drake, I don't see what everyone sees in them or most of the other rappers that people claim as being so extraordinary. Most of the rappers I see that are still rapping at this day don't really compare to anything from the past.
Tupac and Biggie average rappers who have been EXTREMELY OVER-HYPED because they are dead. I'm tired of people talking bout TUPAC and Biggie, its so annoying because I doubt that can name more than 3 songs from either rapper. It so ridiculous that no matter how many albums and how influential a artist becomes in the future they can never be better than tupac and biggie since they were "the greatest". /end rant

If it did then explain Soulja boy, wucka flucka, and that other rapper that always raps about drugs, money, and hoes.
ps. Eminem blows hard. His music is a huge gimmick. The man is a 40 years old with children who trashes on his mom and disabled people in order to sell record. He is always shouting in his songs and his punch lines are corny.

I can't stand Wayne at all, he's horrible. I've always been a fan of the stuff from the 90's and early 2000's over the stuff played the past few years. I personally think some of the best are Eminem, Mike Shinoda, Jedi Mind Tricks, and Army of the Pharoahs.
@moneyown: Ya I agree. I'm waiting on his new album, The Carter IV, to come out. My friend told me he heard good things from XXL or something that the album is gunna be dope.

His old stuff is by far better than his current stuff.
His lyrics are clever but he's always high.
He's better than a lot of rappers in the mainstream... e.g. Wocka Flocka (omfg makes my ear bleed) and Souljah Boy etc.
There's a reason I stopped listening to rap + hiphop for the last yr or so.
But I still like Wiz Khalifa and Kid Cudi.

I'm not Wayne fanboy and he defiantly isn't my favorite but he does have his moments. Considering how much music he puts out it's possible that he gets a few good features or tracks.
