Afk attacking?

Hi guys, I recently started training again and noticed that some people were able to afk and train. I was told by my alliance that this is not allowed, and some other friends said that it's the same way in their alliance. I asked why this is an issue now, because for those of you who don't know, this afk attacking technique has been possible for more than 5 years now. I remember people used to do it all the time, I was also told that this issue began when dks started to go afk spinning for days. I just wanted to get people's opinion on this matter. I personally think that if it was "wrong" then nexon would have done something about it 5+ years ago. Feel free to share your thoughts about this....
@loveskayla Yeh I know about the 100 attacks fail-safe system but wow if I was one of those classes I could bypass it?
Yes you could, I just don't know for certain which skills don't have the fail-safe.

@melonmel No, if you stand still and spam a skill it will end up showing no animation and doing no damage. It's sort of a fail-safe system that nexon put in for botters who stand still, however there are skills that legitimately bypass that fail-safe without the use of injectors.
People are just jealous your able to have a life while being able to level your chars like a machine. Trust me, I leveled 5 200+ chars and 1 lvl 210+, I used to be ruthless when it came to hacking/botting/etc because I saw it as a selfish method to get to the top especially when I was number 1 rank in renegades competing with an exploiter at the time. But when your able to figure out how to do it and use it to help benefit others around you, you learn to enjoy the game a lot better from a different point of view. I'm not saying it's the right thing to do, it's even against the Tos, but when you've already had your fair share of mindless grinding, why not have some fun.
This is my point of view as well. On the regular I work for about 10 hours a day and when I come home I dont want to spend time that I could use for relaxing to train pointlessly especially when nexon slowed down the exp alot by nerfing training spots. But ya like I said it's not really a big deal in my opinion. But I just wanted to get people's opinions on the matter...

Nexon doesn't even bother responding to this issue (not really about afk attacking, but training in general). What else do they expect...
What if I'm holding down a button and attacking indefinitely?

I'm not looking at the screen but i'm still the person clicking the button. Is that botting or what...?
I've thought about this too, since there's no way they would know if your finger is really on that button or not. At that point though, it could be argued that you're pretty much no longer actually playing the game because your attention is elsewhere, and that you are still doing actions in the game, which is basically botting to them.

I decided to train the right way but as a result I lose in rankings.

Eh I don't think that there is anything wrong with it that's kind of why I had that "it's cheating, and we like to qq choice" but I'm more than willing to try to understand what's so "bad" about it.. besides the whole its unfair argument (which basically translates to it's unfair cuz my class can't do it)
Keep in mind that if you are attacking whilst tabbed out, your opinion is irrelevant as nexon's opinion is that its botting.

So yknow. Dont do it because it is classified as botting under the TOS.
Agreed it's just like ksing. it's against the terms too but no one really cares. As I pointed out it's a moral type thing. If you're too paranoid or just don't like breaking the rules then best to stay away from this. The chances of being caught though is slim to none though. It is classified as botting though.

Its against the terms and if caught can get you banned. However, it's really a moral type thing since this type of cheat is virtually impossible to catch. If you're the type that doesn't like to break any rules on purpose then you probably shouldn't do this. If you don't really care since you know it's virtually impossible to catch. Then w/e i guess. I don't condone this as I think cheating is stupid no matter what but yea it's your choice to do it or not.

For those wondering about this, I believe he is referring to the "hurricane" type skills, e.g. Song of Heaven, Blade Dancing, Arrow Blaster

These types of skills will never stop, so if you have auto pot you can tab out and your character will sit there killing everything
Most classes skills don't have a limit at all. Dark knights have a spin skill which never stops even if they reached the 100 attack limit. I think most people use pet MP pot or familiar.
There is also an auto-mp bot.

But doesn't nexon have a limit for attacking in the same spot? How do you spin for days? Don't you die? Run out of mp? Stop attacking because of limit?

Whenever I spam a skill and stay in the same spot, I get to a point where I am attacking, but my attacks don't land. I thought that was the fail-safe.
Yeah it is, however a long time ago there was something called "kami" and what it basically did was it would teleport you around the map right behind a monster and if you had a bot on you could auto attack or use skills while in kami. This didn't allow the fail-safe to work because of course you're not standing still anymore but flying around the map.

Yeah I haven't seen a botter in Windia for a while. The injection that is out now only allows for botting in one spot I don't think it allows you to kami, which is teleporting to enemies, and attacking them so that doesn't really seem like a good way to bot.

Omg that full map attack with jetts and every channel in haunted mansion had one.
Theres a lot less hackers now but also a lot less players.

It's no biggie really. Ive never seen an AFK attacker, or they looked legit?

Is it really getting that big of a deal? I mean... Botting at this mediocre amount isn't anything compared to FMA which was out 3 years ago? There was also another one where it would drag mobs to one spot on the map so you could kill them all at once. So the botting that is still out now, is really nothing compared to 5 years ago. Its gotten a lot better in terms of Nexon being able to detect a majority of injections.

Nexon has done stuff about it, they've banned countless players for botting over the past years and the rate at which they're doing it has increased. As of now, everything gets detected by Cipher or whatever.
