First of all, I was talking about a specific type of hackers, not all.

Your statements are not entirely correct because whether password is strong or weak hackers can still generate your password to break in since nx's security is not strong

Agree mostly with the exception of 20+ chars for the password (if the password uses upper/lower case letters, numbers and symbols), as the hash function is usually 128 bits and having more then 19 chars will exceed the resolution of the hash function, causing it to hash collision to another password's hash which could be a lot weaker. Keep the password 19 chars max (with random upper/lower case letters, numbers and symbols). Also added should change your email's password once (to the same format as suggested) and change MS password upon every SC.

Long =/= Strong. (strong PW is at least 20 digits with lower+upper letters, numbers and symbols)

And even if your passwords were that strong, guess what ? It's useless unless you change it regularly.

those stores mostly belong to hackers and many ppl got hacked after purchased some cheap items there. It is kinda fishy

@karmazen I think the MTS was a lot before the leak, I also checked the IGN list and none of my chars were there, I changed everything by now anyway, hopefully that'll make it...

THATS THE EXACT THING THAT HAPPENED TO ME TODAY.
Played last night until midnight. (PST). Logged in this morning boom my 140 atk bow is gone and all my mesos. They also killed me and went to the FM cause my exp bar was supposed to be 50%.

seriously be happy i know it sounds stupid but maple is too addictive you could do so much more. I had taken a break from maple for around a year I came back and on the site my characters picture wasnt there and i was like NOOOOOOOOOO!. Because i know how you feel youve worked so hard and put so much effort and time into the game. But after i said no i was like finaly its all over i can put my effort into gces and e.t.c. It feels like such a releif but such a heart breaker. the only reason i still play maple was i was like im going to see what the hacker had left me and it turned out it was just crappy nexon failing at its website. Truthly i was annoyed i wanted to be hacked

Another person told me that it had to do with some temp files which is why hackers can easily hack many people since NEXON does not know a thing about it o_O (Mabey a leak in the website? For Instance: ppl can jailbraik iPhone's only if there is a leak in it's software. So there must be some leak somewhere at NEXON's side

Use run tool, put in %Temp%, and what comes up you will see a folder or more containing the IGNs and possibly more info in there.

Create a completely new account to prevent from getting repeat hacked, but only AFTER you've used scanners to check for keyloggers and so on. Join Chaos and repeat the fun.

I was very careful with all of those things, that's why I was really surprised, I always keep my PC clean and safe browse, as I said, I used Game Launcher to log in so a tracking cookie couldn't really do it, and for files, I know what I download and install on my computer.
