Anyone else keep getting an error that's preventing them from logging on and getting the IGNs they want.... Or is this just a sign for me to quit.

@kylehell007: Nexon did say they'd ban anyone found to be selling names, so these people have to lay low for a while. Still terrible, but uh... I don't even know what I was saying.
I knew this was gunna happen within minutes of game going up. People with supercomputers DDOSING login servers so they can get a machine to spam every ign possible until nexon does something. idk how nexon didn't expect this seriously
@scarredhero: I actually just found something incredibly strange. A while back, I found this website which tests how efficient another website is. However, I often use it to test when a website is down. When I first used it, it loaded MapleStory's website fine. I went into the settings and found it was set to use a server in Dallas, Texas. I switched it to a server in New York City, and it couldn't load the website. It also didn't load in Stockholm. It seems they are targeting specific middleman servers, and whoever is doing this might be based around Texas? Or maybe I'm going too far.

@megascience: if this is whats happening they're going to be disappointed considering most of the desirable names are taken already.
Considering basil is getting hit and the maplestory site is down this is most likely a DDoS or simular. Someone wants to troll us/fight for names illegally thinking they won't get jailed lol.
Probably hackers can't get online to claim their names, so they're shutting the game down for everyone so they can get their IGNs.
Someone is/People are DDOSing the website and login servers, while avoiding the actual game servers, so they can take names and no one else can get in and try taking names. Surprised it took them so long to do it, really.
[b]Edit:[/b] Actually, they seem to be DDOSing the actual, initial authorization server. This is really only useful for the purpose they're using it for, as I mentioned: Keeping people from logging in or going to the login screen, so only all their already-logged-in characters are there and can take names.

Got a couple names and fm spot and now cant log on. inb4 nexon takes server down
Is this only effecting people that took a lot of names at once? I went for names I really wanted, and then decided to use my name change. I used the item, but nothing happened, so I tried to log out and got the error. Same error happens each time I try to start the game now.
I haven't been able to get on at all, When I open the nexon launcher instead of it saying play, it said download...lol. Now I just get "Error: An unknown network error occured."
Same with me, logged on got a couple names and dced.

Can't either... just got out of class so I haven't gotten any IGNs, ugh.
^ same. I logged and grabbed a few lame IGNs and when I logged out I couldn't get back on. :c
im getting it after i close my client
I keep getting the 11002 error saying the whole temporary error during the hostname resolution. .-. At least I got like a ton of IGNs already haha.
