I wonder if Maple would be able to be played on this.

Nope- it's running Android "Jelly Bean" for its operating system, so no Windows games will run directly on the device.
(You can play all the Google Play games of course.)
The PC gaming they talk about is apparently all done through streaming from an actual PC computer that runs the game, and the Shield handheld then operates pretty much as the controller. That means you have to be within WiFi range of a PC to use it to play PC games, like Maplestory.
And while it doesn't specifically mention WiFi, the emphasis on streaming content to the device would definitely necessitate its having wireless capability.
Somebody needs to package a little Windows computer with a "Retinal" screen and controller, and THEN we'll have "portable Maplestory".
LOL stream
Since you can stream the game from your computer to the handheld, and the handheld has good specs, I don't understand why it WOULDN'T be possible. You wouldn't be able to type anything to anyone though, and I find controllers difficult to use for Maplestory.
Most likely. You don't need a great computer to run the game, and that device looks good enough for it.
