You do not need a more powerful PSU. 400w would be plenty for that setup, provided that you will not be SLI in the future, which is not relevant as that ASRock you are getting do not have a second PCIe slot. Otherwise, the power draw would peak <~250w DC during synthetic loads (Furmark/Kombustor and Prime95). Of course, this is assuming that we are talking about a quality 400w unit here. There are "400w" and above that are not suited to buy due to it being not safe to put in a modern day setup.

It would be a good idea, if you were to like, post the actual brand and model of the unit.

Wow. I'm surprised to see you still lurking the Non-MS tech forum on Basil!

Any suggestions would be appreciated =D

Well, not including Windows or Monitors. I'm sure you could *Cough* find a copy of Windows 7 on the ground somewhere.....

Well, ignoring that he said he doesn't want to build a computer, I would probably change three things, if he could expand his budget a bit.

Since he isn't likely going to overclock this system, I would just stick with the stock cooler, and invest spend about $30-$40 more on an i5. If he wants to get an aftermarket HSF in the future, he could easily install one in without losing anything.

I would also recommend the Rosewill Capstone 450-M: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182261
It's a high-end unit base on the Superflower Golden Green 450w unit than the budget Basiq group-regulated design from Delta. It should be a superior unit in respect to electrical performance, DC output quality, efficiency, and warranty (3 vs 5 years). It also output the same amount of power - both of them supplies up to 444w or 37A on the +12v rail. The promo code that is Newegg is offering ATM will allow you to get it for $59.99 which is an excellent price for such an unit but it ends today. Deals on these units tends to happen often, so it will likely going to come up again (even the promo time itself may extend). Here's a review on the unit that it is base off of: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=250
I wouldn't get windows 8.
Also, 400w power supply may be too little for a gaming pc. Check how much power your CPU & GPU consume.
Optical drive is pretty much useless ... but you still have to have it =P
Hard drive ... the size is really optional, not that they are expensive anyways.
Well I fund it on newegg. Any ideas on what type of pc I can get that's decent for $600?
