Asked this girl to prom, is she BSing?
So I asked this girl to prom, 10th grader, I'm a senior, I gave her a bouquet of roses. She said yes and gave me a hug, but later that night she sent me a Facebook message telling me that I caught her off guard when I asked her and she said yes, but she forgot she had "talked about going" with someone else.
I thought the wording was a bit weird here, so I'm asking you Basil, for your opinions. Am I being overly paranoid, or did she not want to go with me from the beginning?

@BakinCakes: I actually asked her in private. I feel a bit bummed out that she didn't want to go with me, but I guess I can't win em all. Thanks for the input fellow basilers

In all honesty, it's hard to say.
i've had times when I promised people something, and at the last minute I remember I have something else and I bail out, making it look like I bsed the whole time when I actually did have something.
Other times I am telling the truth when I can't do something, but the way I say it comes out weird and it sounds like bs, but I'm actually telling the truth
Of course, there are times I have bsed things, and I believe that I bs pretty well to make it look like i'm telling the truth.
So truly in my opinion it sounds like bs, but no one really knows for sure except the girl you asked
"Talked About Going". She only talked about it. You asked her, she said yes, now she's trying to weasel out.
Honestly, she probably didn't/doesn't want to go with you.
