I used 'Create Polygon Tool' for the blade itself and when I used smooth from Mesh all surfaces went to hell, lol.

It's not so much about the software you use, although I admire you trying to use Maya (I've found it impossible to come to grips with). I personally prefer 3DS Max, I've always used that for my 3D modelling so I might just be bias.

Just follow tutorials and give them your own twist, it'll all come with time

It's nice to see people posting 3D stuff, last time I was on basil I was pretty much the only person posting. Lots more people are now, keep up the good work and you'll get better!

Awesome job, Love the texture.
Only criticism.. It seems a bit short? might just be me but in game the curves aren't as tight if you get me?
