Not if you have good control with Dash-jumping. BaM isn't fun until 3rd when you get Tele-Mastery.

I made a battlemage because I have staves...And I've tried a mech before, I'm not a fan of it. But maybe you should watch videos and see?

3rd job takes only a few hours especially with the exp bonus resistance is getting right now, and they're not THAT bad till 3rd job
atomic hammer is pretty beast.
You know the difference between them very well. Figure it out yourself.
