Are merchants psychic? Are there sensors/surveill in the Fm?

I swear every single time I close shop, someone pops up and takes the spot. I've noticed it when others close their hired merchants as well - someone comes into the room and tries claim the spot. They definitely know... but how?
You have a point but I've been able to discern the particular people who I've described and those who are looking for spaces. The exact moment the shop closes - the person appears and the immediate second they land - they specifically head towards that spot, be it within their range of view or not. Their immediacy is unnatural.
Could be a hacker teleporting and opening a spot or could be someone giving their friend a spot.

When I give people a spot, I whisper them and count down:
5,
4 3
2 1
0

And then I close and they open up immediately.

Or possibly the person just gave their friend the spot
Think about what you just described. Someone CCs in, and heads towards an empty spot. That basically describes anyone looking for an FM spot. There are probably 10-15 "popular" FM rooms, so basically, you just need about 15 people simultaneously looking for an FM spot in order to have nearly immediate replacement. Now think about how likely this is in Scania, the most populated world. Pretty likely right? See, basic probability.

What type of hack allows you omnipresence over FM spots?

Nope, literally the second I or the people I've seen close shop someone literally CCs in and heads directly to the person's spot. I'm not even whining, somethings going on.

It's part being at the right place at the right time and part hovering like a vulture waiting for a shop to close in one of the rooms you want.
