Switch from f/p to bishop?

Hey guys! I do like the f/p DoT playstyle but it kind of bothers me that it wont finish the kills and leaves them at 1 hp. It seems to me that just spamming attack skills is faster exp... So should I just switch to hs and be a hs mule? I dont feel like spamming atk skills as a f/p. I want to fart.

Beast Tamer (Bear + Cat) seems to fit what you want...
- DoT that kills
- Bonus exp
- Farts

After, like, five years of playing an fp I recently switched to bishop, but for entirely different reasons. Nexon had changed the class so much from what it used to be, that I was just done with it. I couldn't recognize it anymore. I could go into the particulars, but nobody cares about that.

Speaking as someone who mained an f/p for years, through all the BS changes Nexon implemented, I'm enjoying my bishop immensely. You might not like it, since it seems like what you really want is an offensive mage who doesn't have to wait around for DoT to do the job for him. At the time of this writing, Bishops have found a happy middle ground between offense and support; one of their main skills also heals themselves and their party members, and it can switch between mobbing and 1v1 with the push of a button. You'll be wanted in parties for your buffs, but with the right amount of funding you'll be able to stand on your own and get things done solo, which is important because most players are woefully incompetent. The amount of times I've had to solo bosses because my "main attackers" botched their roles or screwed up or decided that drill hall 2 is the perfect place to AFK are endless.

B-But yeah, no. Speaking as someone who's done both, they're both a lot of fun. In truth, I'm having more fun with my bishop than I ever did with my f/p (post-fourth job, that is. Third job multi-channel misting was without a doubt the most fun I've ever had with this game, but I'm not even sure if that's possible anymore), just because its playing style allows for party training and solo training, whereas my f/p was blocked from parties at pretty much every turn. Not sure if that's still the case today, but it seems like once you enter parties as an attacker, you have to compete with other attackers who spend thousands of dollars on this game just to get good. If you're a support class, that's not really an issue. I'm not saying "don't fund your bishop," I'm just saying you won't have to spend an absurd amount of money to make progress like everyone else, and that's nice.

edit: OP, if you have an i/l already, then why don't you make a battle mage? You might enjoy the faster playing style. I don't think you'll be happy as a bishop, since it sounds like you want a magic class that specializes in rapid damage output.

I have both, as two separate characters.
Still training the f/p so I can't rightly decide which play style I prefer.
