Item extraction results changed?

Wasn't really sure how to title this thread, but today I got 3 Epinea's rings and extracted them for superiors. When I did this before, I would get superiors or philosopher's stones about 90% of the time and occasionally some advanced item crystals. All 3 of them gave me 3 advanced item crystals. I'm not sure if this is just bad luck or not, but it seems odd that this would happen 3 times in a row. Did they change something about extracting items or am I just really unlucky?
