I just lost respect on Samsung

I have a brand loyalty with Samsung (have a Samsung TV, computer monitor, Galaxy S3, Samsung hardware in my custom PC, etc.) and I was surprised this happened.

Too long/didn't watch:
1) A guy's Galaxy S4 catches on fire while charging.
2) Samsung wants proof.
3) The guy posts proof on YouTube.
4) Samsung sends a letter to take down the video but also put lots of retarded BS requirements.
5) Guy posts THE LETTER on YouTube (the video I linked).

Wow Samsung....thumbs down.
I'm scared of my Galaxy S3 now.

No it isn't.
Samsung is telling him to do this for something in return. A mod removing my posts and banning me would not get me anything.

Yes but if you watch the video/read the letter Samsung sent it shows that Samsung went too far.
I don't see anything wrong with what Samsung wants the guy to do.
They don't want an incident which (probably) only affects a small percentage of the phones defaming the whole line of product.
What's the problem here?
Accidents and manufacturer defects do happen, but it's a pretty big deal if your phone catches fire.

Also, Samsung is approaching this rather aggressively, if you've taken a glance at that letter; it basically says "We'll replace your phone, but it's not our fault it caught fire." Did they even apologize for a faulty product? Given, the phone's owner didn't have much proof outside of a charred mini-usb port (anyone can take a lighter to a phone), you shouldn't need to sign a release of liability to get something covered under warranty.

Samsung has been making cheap garbage for years now. So happy I got rid of my PoS GS3, terrible build quality, bloatware out the ..., poor GPS/Bluetooth, etc. I'm done, loving my Nexus 5, was a tough choice between the N5 and the iPhone 5s but I think I made the right call.

Yea this was blowing up in Reddit.
Hopefully this won't happen to my S4.
