Anyone here uses two monitors?

So I recently got a nice 1920x1080 monitor (24inch) from black friday hooked it up to my laptop (1366x768).
I chose to extend the displays in the display option, but when I do, my new monitor looks like this: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2ilh5r7&s=5#.UpmmysRDuSo
How do I make it so that the background image is expanded in the monitor too? (Note, my background image is also 1920x1080).

My OS is Windows 7 if that matters.
Thanks.

Set your screen to the highest resolution and then use this software to get rid of the black edges. I've had that crap happen to me every now and then. Works pretty well.[/quote]
Uh, which one do I download?
Nvm, I just went to Personalization and changed the desktop background from 'Fill' to 'Center' and it solved it.
Thanks everyone.

Play around with the display settings in control panel or right click desktop.

Multiple cases.

1) The GPU in your laptop may not be capable of supporting 1920x1080 in which case you'll have those void zones on the monitor that you'll never be able to use assuming the monitor/your computer don't choose to simply display at 1366x768 on your new monitor stretched out.

2) You haven't set your wallpaper to scale at 1920x1080 so you just go to where you usually do when you want to change it and set it to fill.

3) Underscale is enabled in your GPU settings so you follow what @Skyenets linked and change it there.

So I have to make the monitor's resolution to 1366x768 in order for the background to cover the entire screen? Lame...

The monitor should have settings. Full, wide, blah blah blah.

Can't you right click on your background and select: Screenresolution?
You're then able to change the resolution, aren't you?

Maybe because your resolution on the laptop & the resolution on the monitor doesn't match?
Try making changing the resolution of the monitor to the same as your laptop.
