Need quick history help

In history we are learning about the aboriginal people in Canada, and the question is:

What are some reasons that many aboriginal peoples generally have not been successful in Canada's economic progress?

I don't understand what it means by "Canada's economic progress". Little help here?

In comparison to their living standards as Indigenous individuals, the living standards of the average Canadian makes it hard for them to adapt:
-Culture differences
-'Racism' and stereotypes
-Lack of sufficient skills in certain fields
-Decrease in use of manual labour
-Lack of power when it comes to trading.

You should research on the development of Canada's ie:GDP, wealth distributions etc

It's asking why the aboriginals failed to win economically when the Europeans came here. My memory is probably off but I think its something about the aboriginals getting tricked by the Europeans and something about their rights as Muti. This escalated at some point and started that civil rebellion in Winnipeg.
