Getting the meister effect worth it?
I've been leveling up my accessory crafting profession recently in hopes of getting the effect, but then I found out that you would have to maintain your meister status by crafting daily? Does that mean if I don't maintain it, I'd lose the effect?
Is that why I don't see people with the accessory crafting meister effect?

You don't see people with the effect because you're in Zenith, the world so dead half of MS doesn't even know it exists. The effect itself is honestly a pain to maintain, but it's not unreasonable, AKA, you can still sleep without losing exp, but you'll need the craft right before you go to sleep and when you wake up. I wish exp decay was tied to online time instead of real time though.
Actually you can turn on/off the meister effect
But yes you will lose [x] amount of mastery a day or less (not sure of the hours you would need to craft by then) if you do not craft
It really isn't that hard to maintain and you don't have to craft [i]every[/i] day. Every time you craft you get experience and you can build up a lot. I currently have about 500k points so I could go for quite a while without crafting xD
