Some ways to help you focus? I know some of you basilers have very... um... "special" ways to keep yourself focused, but please, I ask of you, refrain yourselves. Thank you. Aside from that long precautionary note, are there any good methods to make yourself focused while you're studying, reading, and etc.? Lately, I've been unable to focus on one particular subject for a long period of time... and it's irritating me. (I'll be logging off basil now to try to focus once more on my exam tomorrow...) Looking forward to your responses, and thanks. :)

Quitting video game is not helping? Hi guys, so uh I have had this "issue" for a long time - video game addiction. I used to play games for countless of hours on everyday bases. I wasn't proud of it, but I couldn't help it. My grades were dropping (A to B, I'm in highschool), I was becoming more and more socially awkward around my group of friends to the point where I wasn't invited to their hangouts and parties, I was gaining pounds, and my parents and siblings last week begged me to stop during our family discussion (I know, I know "family discussion", sounds lame haha). That's why I quit. Erased all my characters in almost all games (except ms; I still want to partake in this forum). Erased all my games off of

My Journey to quitting my addictions hi guys, if you don't recognize me from this thread, my name is oAZNvTOFUo, and I'm an huge EX-game addict. I used to play games so much that it was affecting my social, emotional, and physical health, that I've inclined to stop. I thought it would be a fun idea if I kept a log on this site to show my progression... kinda lame but hey! haha :). [header]week 4[/header] So, it's been about 4 weeks, and I have to say, I've been gradually improving. My physical endurance has improved from exercising everyday and getting enough sleep, also my grades have been steadily (not capriciously though...) increasing. As for my social life - well, I've

How to make someone feel better Hi basil, I hope you guys are doing well on your AP exams :) I have a question for you all. Today my friend was horribly depressed, mainly because he claimed that he had failed his AP Spanish exam. Of course, I tried to make him feel better, by saying encouraging things such as "I'm sure you did fine." But, in the end, he kept feeling down and wouldn't cheer up. I felt uncomfortably awkward in that particular situation. So my question is this: how do you cheer up somebody or make them feel better...without you/them feeling awkward? p.s. Sorry about the ambiguity of the question, I saw no other way to phrase it haha.

Any Microsoft App programmers out here? Hi, I recently got myself into programming apps for microsoft. I wanted to make my own apps related to productivity like "bus schedule", "inspirational quote" (<- I don't think this is productivity...), and more. However, I noticed that Microsoft uses C++ instead of Java script, so I decided to start to learn how to write with C++. My question is this: are C++ and Java completely different languages? Or are they similar in someways? Thanks, much help is appreciated.
