The Great Chase

Guys. Guys. Remember that Web Event last year where Nexon asked us to help them make an event?
I made a 4-5 page story line about an event. It had 3,000 characters. Edit: I mean 3,000 words! Oops.
When I tried to send it, the character limit was 500, so I was like "Forget Dis."

One year later, as I was looking through my past documents for fun, I found my story again. Just yesterday.
I love it and I wanted to share it because it will never do any good now.

So here it is!

Journy of 1000 Quests

Young Icarus continued to gaze up onto Kerning City's skies. He sighed in immense worry as an Explorer walked by. The Explorer spoke up:
Chokimon: What is wrong Icarus?

Icarus: I still haven't had a chance to spread my wings and fly yet. *Sighs* Time is running short for me.
Chokimon: You are so young! Why do you need to hurry?
Icarus: My father, Daedalus, is calling for me. He needs my help. But I want to continue to find a way to fly!
Chokimon: Oh. Well that's too bad then.
Icarus: Wait...Wait a minute. You can help me! You aren't busy, are you?
Chokimon: W-what? Of course I'm busy! I need to go to Henes- Ok Ok, I'm not so busy...
Icarus: Wonderful! Here, take this note to Daedalus explaining why I can't help him.

The Explorer grumbled and snatched the note from Icarus's hands. She continued on a little ways off until she realized she didn't know where Daedalus was! After thinking about this predicament, she realized the only person who could help was...Cassa- Grendel! Before she took the taxi to Ellinia, an annoying light bulb appeared above her head. She clicked on it.

Cassandra: Now where are you headed off to Chokimon?
Chokimon: Uh...to get some help from a great magician...

Chokimon: That would be me...yes?
Chokimon: No...Look Cassand-
Cassandra: I know all! I see all! You are looking for a man named Dandelion right? Here, I'll take you too him! Go on, Accept nao!
Chokimon: Ugg...(That's not the right person, but I have no other leads!). Fine.

After Accepting Cassandra's request, the Explorer fell into a black portal that pulled her through it. It wasn't painful, but it was a little too sudden. When she opened up her eyes, the world went from dreary Kerning City to blue and brown. This wasn't a green area where a Dandelion would reside! This was an Oceanside town! There were buildings to the right and a grand ocean of dark blue water to the left. There were a few towns' people, but the place looked mostly deserted. A boat was tied to a boardwalk to the left of the screen. The Explorer walked towards a man with a light bulb above his head.
Old Miro: What is it, young'n! This is no place for kids ter be hanging 'bout.
Chokimon: Sorry Sir. I was helping Icarus and I had to send a note to his dad and Cassandra sent me to the wrong place and I was gonna ask a Dandelion, even though they can't talk. They are really just a flower and they couldn't possibly talk. Cassandra's gone bonkers ever since she turned blond! I just want to find Daedalus!
Old Miro: Uh...that's nice and all. You should just find your way back now.
Chokimon: Can you help me find a way back? I don't know how I got here.
Old Miro: Oh! I forgot ter mention... the only way out of this island is through a ride on my boat. But there's a fee, 3,000 mesos.

The Explorer paid the fee and soon found herself riding on a 30 minute old, rickety boat. Wait...Thirty Minutes? That's way too long! She talked to Old Miro.
Chokimon: Old man! This ride is longer than waiting for the Zakum portal to open!
Old Miro: I dunno what you're talking about. But we're almost home, sonny boy.
Chokimon: Sonny Boy? I am not your son!
Old Miro: Now my wifey dearest-
Chokimon: Wifey? You're scaring me here, old man! I'm out of here!

After finishing her conversation with Old Miro, the screen shook. The world was shaking! The oceans rose high. And there were many sprays of water crashing onto the deck. Old Miro screamed a sentence that covered the whole screen:

It's the KRAKEN!

After another shake, everything went black...

---

The Explorer opened up her eyes to a lush, green, beachside island. The ocean water was still to her left, but it didn't look so dangerously blue now. There were many pieces of wrecked boat around her. A boy in front of her was talking to her. Behind him was a vast area of jungle leaves and wild parrots.
Jasonial: Have you woken up now, sleepy head?
Chokimon: Is...is this Florina Beach?
Jasonial: Of course not! This is no paradise. I don't even know where we are. But all of a sudden, people have been dropping by like there's no tomorrow!

The Explorer noticed that there were many people on the island. There were other Explorers, Adventurers, Cygnus knights and even the Hero Legends walking around with stunned looks on their faces.
Chokimon: If this isn't Florina, then where am I?
Jasonial: No one knows for sure. I came here on a boat that crashed. Me and my best friend Saturday have been roaming around and trying to survive. He's over by the Cyclops Cave.
Chokimon: Did you just say...what I think you just said?
Jasonial: No worries. We've been able to keep that big one-eyed buffoon at bay.
Chokimon: Not that! You called someone Saturday?
Jasonial: That's his name!
Chokimon: Why is his name a day of the week?
Jasonial: That's when we met, and he didn't have a name before that! Can we get on with the Cyclops?
Chokimon: Carry on.

Jasonial: I haven't heard from Saturday for a while now... Can you go by and look for him by the Cylcops Cave?

The explorer had to decide if she wanted to Accept or Decline.
Jasonial: Thanks a lot! Now, go make a medallion that will give you access to go into the cave. Normally it has a putrid smell, but with a medallion, you can go by as if you smell nothing. Go with a minimum party of 3 people. You can have up to 6 people in your party. It's good to stick together when danger is around. All party members must have a medallion. Be sure to stock up on potions from our supplier over by that parrot tree. Good luck and I hope you don't run into trouble.

(Side Quest: How to make a Medallion. 15 Feathers of a Rainbow Parrot. 10 Leopard Teeth. 5 Jungle Lupin Hairs. Forge these items. All items can be forged by Robina Sue, a girl working on making weapons to fight against the Cyclops).

The Explorer looked for a good party. She found three confused looking people and quickly formed a party. They trudged through three portals, all filled with jungle wild life. The first one was filled with level 30 rainbow parrots, flying and zipping around. They easily maneuvered past them. The second was a level 40 leopard hangout. They looked cute, but the party trudged on. The third portal was filled with level 50 monkeys, not so different from Lupins. The last portal led to a gigantic cave. A man dressed in ragged clothes greeted them. The leader of the party talked to him, but all members of the party can listen in on the conversation in their chat bars.
Saturday: Halt! This area is off limits! Can't you see it's dangerous?
Chokimon: Ah, yes. Jasonial sent us. He's worried about you.
Saturday: That boy...He knows I can handle myself! Just hurry on back and -

The screen shook as giant footsteps could be felt. All the party members heard a roar that covered their whole screen:

Fee Fi Fo Fum!
I smell a blood of a Mapler!
Be thee alive, or be thee dead
I'll grind your bones to make my bread!

The screen turned black. And soon, everyone from the Explorer's party found themselves inside the Cyclops Cave. A timer could be seen above, telling them all they had 30 minutes to fight against the Cyclops. In their chat bar, the Cyclops continued to tell the party how he wanted to eat their bones.

Boss: Cylcops
Description: One eyed monster. Bald. Brown strapped sandals. Big ears. Brown fur blanket used as pants. Ragged tan shirt used as a top. Wooden club used as weapon.
HP: Equivalent to Alishar
EXP: Equivalent to Alishar
Drops: Potions. Level 30-50 equips. Pill boosts. Cyclops Necklace (Etc. Item. 1-6 will drop every time the Boss is killed, depending on the number of people in the part). Cyclops Orb (3 will drop every round).

The Boss was killed in a matter of minutes. Saturday stands in the middle of the cave.
Saturday: You did it, Hurray! Quick, let's get out before its family comes back!

As all the party members exit the room in their own time, they pick up a Cyclops Necklace and one Cyclops Orb. Through the portal, they are sent to the map where Jasonial is.
Jasonial: There you are! It's great that you fought that beast! And I see you have a Cyclops Necklace! Ask Robina Sue what you can do with it. You can continue to fight more Cyclops, so keep that medallion close to you. I'll see you later, Bye.
(Side Quest: How to make a Cyclone Necklace. Talk to Robina Sue. She will forge a Necklace with the Cyclops Necklace and one Cyclops Orb. She will also need 20 Rainbow feathers and 20 Leopard teeth. Finally, she'll need 20,000 mesos to buy additional materials.
Forge to make: Cyclone Necklace. +1 stats on Str/Dex/Luk/Int. +5 speed. And 4 open slots. Level 30+)

---

There was nothing more to do on this island. The Explorer said goodbye to her party members and roamed around the island. She could always use a Return Scroll to go back to Kerning City (She always had that option), but she needed to find...Who did she need to find? A man cloaked in rags was standing against a palm tree. He had a quest mark on him.
Ishmaelite: I was watching you help those people fight off a Cyclops. Well done.
Chokimon: I'm really tired, Mister. I need to find a dandelion. I mean, Daedalus!
Ishmaelite: Haven't heard of him. You can always ask my friend, Capt. Ahabard. He knows everybody. He's currently on a journey to find a long lost friend. You could hitch a ride.
Chokimon: That sounds great!

After Accepting Ishmaelite's request, the explorer found herself inside a captain's cabin on a boat. A man with a white beard was sitting behind a desk.
Capt. Ahabard: Ishmaelite has said great things about you. If you've helped those people, then I'll help you too. This boat can take us to a harbor close by.
Chokimon: Lith Harbour? That sounds like home!
Capt. Ahabard: Aye, that be the name. Well then, shall we take off?

Soon, the boat took off. Strangely, there was no time limit on the boat ride. There were others onboard, jumping around the ships stern and sitting on lovely chairs. The Explorer found time to chat with the others, hoping there wouldn't be another Kraken collision. But after one minute on the ride, the boat started to shake. Capt. Ahabard suddenly yelled in fear:

Get below deck! It's the KRAKEN!

This time, the Explorer didn't let herself faint into darkness. Nor did she follow the low leveled maplers onto the bottom of the deck. She took out her sword and charged a 10 legged pink Squid.

Boss: Kraken
Description: Pink Squid. 10 Tentacle like legs swirl around the boat.
HP: Equivalent to current Bigfoot
EXP: Equivalent to current Bigfoot
Drops: Potions. Level 60-100 equips. Pill boosts.

After slashing away at the legs, the explorer and the other maplers stood back as the Kraken disappeared. Hurray! Everyone cheered with relief. Capt. Ahabard, who was standing in the back with fear, now spoke up.
Capt. Ahabard: I have never seen such bravery! You have shown me so much these past few minutes. Here, take my captain hat. This is a sign that will show people you are the bravest of all warriors.

Capt. Ahabard's Hat - 5 slots. +5 stats on Str/Dex/Luk/Int. Level 60+ Head equip.

or
Capt. Ahabard's Beard - 3 slots. +1 stat on Str/Dex or Luk/Int or Dex/Luk. Level 100 Face Equip. (Those that were not able to land a hit on Kraken, will not be able to choose this option).

After accepting the hat or beard, the Maplers are automatically sent to Lith Harbor. Home! But the Explorer wasn't able to finish her quest at all! A light bulb appeared above her head.

Cassandra: Hello Sweetie-
Chokimon: Not YOU again! You almost had me killed! Three times! What's wrong with you!
Cassandra: But I did send you to Dandelion! Didn't you see one on your long and painful journey?
Chokimon: W-well. I think I did see a dande- Wait a minute, how did you know about that journey?
Cassandra: Gotta go...Here's a mystery box as thanks for all your trouble. Go visit that so called great magician, Grendel. (Although, he's second best to me).

Frustrated, the Explorer opened up the box. "You have received 20 Elixers." WAT. All that trouble for potions? Lousy Cassandra! The Explorer was mad. As she stroked her Ahabard Beard, she grumbled with anger. But soon, she made her way to Ellinia. She stepped up the vines to Grendel's place.
Grendel: Working hard, young mapler?
Chokimon: Grendel, I need help. I need to find Daedalus.
Grendel: Ah yes, Daedalus. Have you asked his son Icarus?
Chokimon: ... I haven't thought of that yet...
Grende: Oh. Well, if you can kill 100000 slimes, I will gladly help.
Chokimon: 1 slime? Ok!
Grendel: No, 1000000 slimes.
Chokimon: You just added one more 0 on purpose!
Grendel: So you were listening. Just talk to Icarus, I'm sure he knows.

Our Hero grumbled some more as she took a taxi back to Kerning City. She found Icarus still perched, staring up at the sky.
Icarus: My friend, where have you-
Chokimon: I'm sorry Icarus. I couldn't find your father. I was going go to Grendel but Cassandra showed up and threw me on an Oceanside island where I met a weird man who gave me a boat ride and he started to talk weird but then there was a Kraken attack and I was stranded on an island where I had to kill a Cyclops who really loved poetry and then I met a man who asked me to call him Ishamelite so then he had a captain guy who helped me get another boat ride but then were attacked again by the Kraken and this time I killed it and my prize was his beard.
Icarus: W-wha...
Chokimon: AND Cassandra showed up again but she didn't apologize, instead she laughed at my face and gave me potions to spite me and told me to go to Grendel who didn't help at all and now I'm here.
Icarus: I...I'm in shock. All of this happened today? Wow! You really are an adventurer. My dad just called me, so I realized you didn't give him the note. I told him I can't help, so he had my cousin help him. It's all good. Thanks for your help. Bye!
Chokimon: ...You...called your dad? You called him?
Icarus: I used a telephone?
Chokimon: How can you call him?

Icarus: I used my hands...Where are you going with this?

Chokimon: You were able to call him and I did all of that just for a "Thanks Bye?" Is that all?

Icarus: Oh, well here's a +300 stat eye accessory. Will that suffice?

Chokimon: Don't joke with me! Compensate!

Icarus: But, you didn't really help me. Maybe you were on an errand for someone else? Didn't you say Cassandra threw you off somewhere?

Cassandra! Of course, she was the mastermind! The Explorer charged off hurriedly towards the Gypsy. Cassandra sat on her booth, looking innocent.
Cassandra: I didn't mean anything by it. You were free. Didn't you say that yourself?
Chokimon: I wanted to help Icarus, not you! Now compensate for all the trouble you caused!
Cassandra: Ok, don't get all huffy. Here is a "Cassandra is #1" Medal.
Chokimon: Finally, this medal is worth a lo- Nothing! Don't give me a lame title like that! Do it right!
Cassandra: Fine. How about "Journey of 1000 Quests" (But is actually just one long quest).
The Explorer Accepted. At least it's something~
Medal: Journey of 1000 Quests. +5 stats all. 150 Hp/Mp.

Cassandra: I know you enjoyed yourself. If you want to go visit Cyclops Island again, just ask me. Now, thanks for the trouble. Goodnight!

The End

Side Info for Journey of 1000 Quests:
Level requirement - levels 30 - 200
Rewards -
Cyclone Necklace (level 30)

Capt. Ahabard's Hat (Level 60)

Capt. Ahabard's Beard (Level 100)
Medal: Journey of 1000 Quests.

This quest line brings about different stories and mashes them together. Though it may seem rushed and Maplers may feel as if there's too much to handle, there is an anchor in the story that keeps things solid. The journey to find Daedalus keeps everyone focused on the goal. And even if the physical goal is not achieved, there is some fulfillment of the quest (The ending with Cassandra). There are many jokes and gags that bring entertainment. There are bosses that many warriors would love to fight. And finally, the rewards are somewhat appealing to any audience (As long as they don't expire). Though the bosses aren't necessarily focused on level 120+, perhaps there can be a way to implement a second Ahabard boat for high levels (120+). The Kraken can have Hp and Exp Equivalent to Papalatus. This way, all levels will become satisfied.

And now I close off with a final Goodbye. I hope everyone enjoyed this long journey!
