I was playing on my zero and i saw that you could buy them for 5 coins each. what does it do?

You can use it to enter the Kritias dungeon in the mirror world. There is two modes and a limit of three entries a day per mode. The monsters are very strong but the exp is well worth it. I've only done the easy mode since hard mode have monsters that are level 180.
In easy mode, monsters give 124k exp and there are a total of five stages. The final boss is the giant black heart, which is kind of annoying and I haven't been able to kill it.
