Yah, there are no good beaches. They're all green(bc Atlantic) and trash-filled.
@achyif yap, except the beaches on long island can be very gorgeous- especially ones out farther near the hamptons
TS, don't bother with any of the NYC beaches. Go further out to nicer long island beaches or rent a car and head to Island Beach State Park in NJ- easily the best beach within hundreds of miles from here

Isn't new York essentially landlocked? Except for NYC and long island? O_o
Ain't no good beaches in the northeast. Water too cold anyways
Home Depot>Bag of Sand.
House>Kitchen>Bucket of water.
Grocery>Aisle with salt>Salt.
Mix all three together and you have a beach.
