What are the rules regarding links?

You get punished for posting links if you don't meet certain requirements, right? What are those? Or did I make this up?
If you are unsure of posting a link, Pm a mod and ask.
This can be applied to most cases.

However, sometimes this doesn't work due to inconsistency between the mods wich may lead to a suspension because it's the users own responsibility to abide by the rules.

Simple answer, no. However, posting a link to your guild site is allowed if it's a part of a listing and does not break any of the rules.
