Eh, I never really bothered to check out anything outside of 9gag. I mean, all the same crap ends up in the same sites, might as well stick with the one that's most appealing in terms of layout.

Chan: 30% of the boards are awful, 30% of it is dead, 30% are meta threads, and the remaining 10% is actually good/decent. This site was a lot better in 2006-2007 when there weren't so many idiots floating about like nowadays. You are a gigantic if you use /soc/, /random/, /r9k/, /v/(?), /sp/, or /jp/; the other boards are at least tolerable.
FunnyJunk: This site was fun. When I was 10 and thought "your mom" jokes were funny.
Reddit: [Crappy] gateway forum to chan. The general age group of this site is about 15-17, which makes Reddit home to a bunch of DARKEDGYXD kids (note: this doesn't apply to all teens). Many Basilers will probably end up here at some point, and they'll end up turning into gigantic assholes without even knowing it. It's just frustrating to see pseudo-hipsters implying that they're cool, non-conformist gentlemen.
9gag: The bottom of the internet. If you like this site, you should just delete your system32 and throw a brick at your monitor. They steal memes and ideas from both Reddit and chan, claim to be Anonymous (which they clearly aren't), and the userbase has a collective IQ equaling a sack of potatoes. This site is like taking Reddit, dividing it by 12, shoving the remainder into a furnace, and throwing the ashes into a flaming pile of crap in which maggots will infest it after the fire is put out by the urine of hobos that live in the San Francisco alleys.
Conclusion: All these sites are bad. Stop using them before you become cancer or get v& by the FBI.
9gag is full of rage comics that became bland a year ago. Reddit is full of Advice Dog clones that became bland two years ago. Chan has everything that brightens my day.
Chan, Reddit, and 9gag are all pretty terrible. Talking to people on any of those websites is like talking to mindless screaming koalas. I don't want to talk to them. I don't want to participate in conversation. I don't want to browse through thread after thread for the same topic. I want all my meme laughs put together on a single page, where I can just scroll through them without having to engage in pointless and surely mind-debasing conversation. Thus, I choose 9gag. But in all honesty, I hate 9gag comments as well. I only search through them sometimes to find youtube links. If it wasn't for the simple format, I'd stay away.
Chan is just terrible. You have different threads, you have to click on a thread just to go through a specific topic, and 99% of the replies are just... I don't even know what to make of them.
Reddit isn't as bad. But you still have to click on threads to view images or memes. Why spend that extra effort on my part?
EDIT: I see a lot of reason why people hate 9gag is because of the fact that they post days/weeks/months late, and nothing they have is original. I agree. Does it change the fact that I can access the information instantly? Nope. So 9gag still wins in my book. Besides, I don't sit around for hours upon hours looking at memes. Maybe 15 minutes. Every few days.
