Death Parade Ep1
Wow! Ep1 was quite amusing, a little drama there got me the feeling... I have a question that I didn't understand. Why did the wife got sent to Hell when she was the winner and from any prospective the husband was at fault. Also i'm a little curious about their system, does the arbiter actually knew who is going to hell and heaven before the game or determined after the game. It's interesting to me after she won the game, to me from that prospective it looks like the wife is going to heaven but not until she tries to spite the husband and yes that moment, the arbiter looked shock too, it's like he knew she was lying or moment of truth, she's actually a chick going for the money? I don't know. What do you guys think

Really i kinda don't like it if the anime keeps repeating it like that. What piqued my interest was the opening, seems like they will have more judges in the future. I wonder why...

I don't think the games really matter? I think they're just a way to test the relationship and reveal their true nature to be used for judgement on whether they get a second chance or not. I think the memories that flash are concrete evidence and are not meant to lie to the audience. But I do think the white-haired guy already knows who is guilty or not, but he gives him a chance to redeem themselves depending on how they act. He didn't seem surprised of how crazy the husband acted, but he was surprised by the woman's words. Plus, you can see the woman like.. wipe away her tears before she starts putting up her "front" that she married him for his money. I think the husband was supposed to be sent to the void for his actions because he reacted the most insane and irrational and purposely hurt his wife/baby, but the woman admitted to cheating so that his crazy behavior was justified and therefore the husband was given a second chance. Yet, I believe the child is his... but she did probably cheat. I just think she sacrificed herself to redeem her husband because she really did love her husband and could not stand to see him tormented that he murdered his child.
dat op though
The opening song threw me off.
....mmmmm, watched the first episode. It was okay.
Is this going to be random judge these ppl stories?

Bonus option is what i am going towards, because the same thing happened in the Death Billiards OVA. The old man had done nothing inherently wrong but chose to let the younger one get on the "heaven" elevator.
I didn't get the smile he made at the end tho. It was so devious seems like he's been pretending that innocent look the whole time but still got sent down to hell. Or maybe their path had been determined before the game?

I find this interesting but the first episode was a bit predictable.
honestly the games and writing in this show are pretty weak so i'm glad it seems to be focused on the Queen Decim staff as much as judging souls. great op, too.
there are a ton of ways to look at the situation as for why the wife got sent to the void though. for starters, winning the game means nothing. i think the original ova had Decim state that the games are just a method to judge rather than the judgment itself. with that out of the way, the wife stuff breaks down like so:
[*]wife cheated - sent to void for being unfaithful etc
[*]wife admitted to cheating - sent to void bc she admitted her sins
[*]wife lied about cheating - sent to void for maliciously lying
[*]wife lied about cheating - Decim sees her desire to save her husband, sends her to the void
[*]bonus option - wife would've been reincarnated for w/e reason but sacrificed herself for her husband

But sorry for spoiling it for you tho
I skimmed it, so I acutally didn't get much of a spoiler. I gotenough to get a just of the plot and thats about it.
I think I will give it a shot and see if I like it.
I didn't like how it reminded me of SAO ep 2. Makes me cringe so much o 3 o
It was a bit disappointing, especially at the end. The charm about it was supposed to be for everyone to interpret the fate of each character. It wasn't that bad either, it's an episodic series so there will always be good and bad episodes/stories.

So is it good or not? My Anime list is like very barren atm.
Don't join the hype

Dammit
The second it was revealed to be a husband and wife, the whole plot was predictable. The scripting was questionable too. If they wanted to miss, throw the darts up or backwards.
I think there's potential so I will continue to watch. Hoping for something left field or surprising.
Ending credits says reincarnation & void. Dunno if sub is wrong
This is gonna be a fantastic series. Morals will be judged and tested. The feels will be heavy!
There isn't actually a Heaven or Hell. Watch the little bit after the ending credits.
What pic? Now that i recall back she does seem like she's hiding something. Why didn't she pick up the phone call? But her face, the moment they flash back and forth keep me believing she's innocent. Also was it like a payback for her to hit the dartboard?
The Wife was sent to hell because she admitted to being guilty, it doesn't matter whether the husband was at fault or not, because he never admitted to doing anything. Also we can't assume that right when they came out, the game was determined. For now, it's just a mere coincidence. We would need another 2 episodes for it to seem valid.
As for whether or not she was actually guilty, I believe she wasn't. The once docile man she knew looked like he was completely destroyed and she couldn't stand the sight of that, so she decided to put up a face. Even Decim was surprised probably because he already knew she wasn't guilty, but didn't interfere and instead, went with the flow. Anyways people say that one picture of her being with another guy is concrete evidence, but I just think it was used to make the lie even more believable.
This is just my 2 cents though
