So that's why my sup gollux ring didn't reach legendary.
I'm not entirely sure but when I used an occult cube back when they were available it went from Epic to Unique. Keep in mind that occult cubes highest rank was Epic.

i tried it before and as of maybe one patch ago it will stay unique

I will go to mcdonalds and eat 50 chicken nuggets
It'll stay unique
