How come server checks have changed so much?

When I first started, about 2 years ago, server checks were completely different.
So, I have a few questions that I hope you guys can answer.
How come Nexon moved the time from night to now the day when most people are on?
How come it takes them so much longer now? 9 hours just to add some new event quests and fix some things?
It used to take 4-7 hours if I remember correctly. Another thing I have noticed and annoyed by is that they decided to do it on the last day of 3x.
I would rather have it on the first day of 2x. What are your thoughts?

@iBurnSlimes:

well the thing is that we were told ahead of time that there was going to be a scheduled SC. it would have been different if it was unscheduled.
i think skipping school for an online game you will likely not play when you're older is kinda stupid. there has already been tons of compensation, i honestly do not see the point of them extended it, but now everyone's going to complain because it'll be sooooo slowwwwwww training on regular exp, it's like everyone is a spoiled little kid who gets everything they want but still complains..
Hahaha! Of course! It's also stupid for younger people, you know? Come on, skipping school for a game, God.. you'll regret later.
Anyway, it's not about "gettin what they want and they're still complaining", it's about what everyone expects cause Nexon actually said we would get 3x until Feb 8th (it means the whole day). So if they don't fulfill what they promised, then we got a problem. Because we all maplestory players (young and old ppl) are costumers and we deserve respect: it means being polite and not saying something they won't do.

And yeah, it's true, everyone will complain about exp being so slow when 3x/2x is over, but that's what kids do, right? Complain til they get what they want and Nexon giving us more exp events. I missed the old cool events, nothing about exp

Anyone here mentioning that it's during school time doesn't know what they're talking about. I have to wait 6 hours after school to play it for 2 hours and then the even will end. Now i don't really care too much. But point being for some people this is an inconvenience, so before commenting on the situation based upon your own life, think about how it may be for some other people.
Who would want to work a night shift at a programming job because some kids are complaining they want to play a game?

I sure wouldn't.
Those same kids buy nx which gets you paid. Unhappy customers = bad.

I sure like getting paid.

Buy more nx.

@zekeekez:
honestly, stop blaming nexon. if anything it's the community that's gotten worse. the reason they add all this crazy !@#$ in the game is 'cause everyone asks for it. do not tell me people did not want 2x exp coupons or cubes or anything of that sort to make the game better for themselves. all the hacking and stuff isn't nexon's fault.. it's the people who are doing the hacking. so their security isn't the best, does that mean we should take advantage of that? so because i have a gun i can go and kill someone, nobody's watching anyways, right? no. the community has been the worst thing to maplestory, not nexon.

@Person000000:

probably because a majority of players are at school, and people like australians play during the night-ish. they may also have workers who don't do night shifts.. who knows.
someone with common sense and reasoning on basil? *tears of joy drops from my cheeks* miracles do come true :'D

My point(in this case question) is how come they changed from night to day. Nowhere was I complaining. If you remember, they used to do the server checks during the night.

Anyway, they can't say 3x til February 8, cause it's not. Come on, 9 hours is almost one day (cause normal people need to sleep... assuming they decided to play and not to study/work/etc)...

Did you know that Nexons CEO is the same person that was Wizets CEO?
Yes I did. Did you not read my quote from the internet? Nexon absorbed Wizet. Having the same CEO doesn't mean that Wizet keeps everything the way they want since they joined Nexon.

Maple/Nexon has become a lot bigger since those days. Of course they need more time to work it trough.
How come Nexon moved the time from night to now the day when most people are on?
Most people are in school during the day, a lot more people play at night than day time on weekdays.

MS itself has gotten much bigger, the effort to make changes and any testing would take a longer than 2 years ago as there are way more content.
Another thing I have noticed and annoyed by is that they decided to do it on the last day of 3x.
I think 3x were suppose to be over on the 8th, Nexon didn't start this SC until 7AM PST which is already passed its time by 7 hours.
It's down for this long... and they're not even doing name changes or server transfers? Nexon... Give Maplestory back to Wizet. I miss them so much.

Wizet was a Korean PC online game developer/publisher. Its first product was the wildly successful MMO product MapleStory.

With this successful launch alongside publishing partner Nexon, Wizet eventually was absorbed into Nexon.

This only proves it: Nexon is a soul snatcher.
Did you know that Nexons CEO is the same person that was Wizets CEO?

Yea guys I see where you're going when most people are at school.
I would get back at home normally in about a half hour, but today I had a half day.

They usually finish a lot earlier when they decide to do it during the morning, plus how would you feel coming in at midnight to do some server maintenance, that's why mistakes are made. Since they live in pacific time they are more rested and more focused on there job, why must you be so selfish and try and deprive them of there well deserved sleep. Plus aren't most people suppose to be in school?

I know but still would you rather have one during 3x or 2x think about it.

EDIT:There is a maintenance right now so yea... can't really use that 3x

They did it 7 hours after 3x ended...
