I am utterly disgusted
4 1/2 years of playing Maplestory and I finally fall victim to hackers.
Honestly, us players are all at the mercy of Nexon and crouching at the feet of hackers.
We are completely powerless in showing Nexon our hateful responses toward them.
In the past, many basilers have suggested we boycott Nx game cards (Karma Koins now) but sadly the community is not united enough for this.
Seriously Nexon. How many info leaks do there need to be before you realize the players are sick and tired of this?
Personally, I am quitting. There is no use in paying real money to regain my equipment if all that money goes to Nexon's 'excellent' service.
The grind and growth of my level 140 NL are helplessly murdered as Nexon kicks back and flips through the stacks of dollar bills.
RIP xnitemares. It has been a good run.
EDIT 1: My intention for this thread is not for sympathy/mesos. It is to collect the Maplers that are sick of being toyed by Nexon and to actually START something. We can't keep sitting around taking this, my friends. The second bit of my thread was to share my personal actions taken due to these leaks.

idk wat you ppl will think about wat im going to say and i didnt read a single post in the thread just read the start, and it made me think about something, maybe its way not true but wat if nexon sold the info or something like that to gain money or even hacked their players so they would buy more nx this could be an answer for the numerous amount of hacks

The same thing happened to me the day after Ascension. I log in after one day of inactivity, and my meso and items are gone. I don't share my account and did not encounter any random people the day before. I just hit 140, and after 6 years, I've been hacked for the first time... I'm disappointed, but I'll keep playing.
Hacking is a serious problem
i mean players dedicate long hours and possibly money to their characters and some f@990+ comes along stripping that players acc of practically everything
and im pretty sure that there have been many incidents of suicide involving victims of hackers
This needs to stop and prevented by nexon

Actually, looking at how most of them are coded it's EASIER to hack a password that's made out of random numbers and letters than four random words. Lulssimpleprogramming.

Dream on. The MapleStory community's too block-headed and selfish to unite or to do some productive. If you got hacked, you rebuild or quit and get on with your life. There's really no point trying to bring everyone together in this. It isn't something totally important to the country. It's just a virtual asset. And before you attack me by saying "what if you got hacked?".. Yes. I will be disappointed and sad. But i'm not gonna go all crazy over it and start attacking Nexon. They're clearly trying their best to shape things up and improve our game performance. They cannot possibly cover up every single loophole. I don't care if you can't see it. 95% of the community can't either. You're in the majority, from what i see. Only the 5% are smart enough to think the right way and to do the right things.

Ok, it must be time for me to get some sleep. I could have sworn I just saw someone vaguely compare Nexon's lousy customer service to the plight of blacks and the Civil Rights movement.
I can't even call that comparing Apples to Oranges. It's more like comparing Apples to the left rear landing gear of a 787.
But regardless, I am truly sorry that some thief took what you've worked so hard for. Yeah yeah, it's just a game some might say, but it doesn't change the fact that some sniveling, cowardly thief stole something that you worked hard on. I truly wish Nexon had the type of service Blizzard did and you'd get your character and stuff back.

It makes sense to be mad. Anyone reading this comment, ask yourself, 'If I got hacked and the last 4 years of my bloody effort were removed in a flash, would I be mad?'
If I recall, this IS Nexon's fault, and if I recall AGAIN, they did accept responsibility for this leak.
The result of their lack of response and compensation baffles me and the rest of the 400+ players hacked. (I assume.)

Sorry to hear that happen to you. It'd be pretty cool to see the Maple community to unite and NOT purchase NX for a month or 2 to show Nexon that we're serious. I don't plan on giving my money to a company that can't own up to their own mistakes and try to change. Their customer service has stayed pretty consistent for the past few years and that's not a compliment.

I have the same idea, I don't want to update my basil image of my Aran because it's wearing the Bosshunter Helm that's now gone.
