Need ultrabook for college

Well, not really need so much as want. Can any of you recommend any good ultrabooks? I want one that's really thin, lightweight, and has a long battery life. I thought about getting an ASUS zenbook, but I saw that it had really bad reviews. Then I thought about getting a Macbook air, but I dont like apples OS.

Asus is the way to go. High performance, beautiful display, portable if needed, and, if you ever find yourself gaming, you'll be able to support it

I haven't used Windows 8 fully yet, however OSX blows Windows 7 out of the water. I have the 2012 Macbook Air w/ 8GB RAM and it is a multitasking machine. If you're not a big gamer, I'd suggest an Air.

The trackpad gestures and "chiclet" keyboard are fantastic for doing research and writing essays. Everything feels so fluid and natural compared to the majority of PC laptops.

What's your price range? ASUS usually makes fairly good high-end laptops, and if you don't like the mouse you can always get a USB/Bluetooth one for about no cost at all.
Haven't seen a laptop trackpad beat a regular mouse in terms of usability (even on a MacBook).
