League of Legends Champions

Hey
So i just started playing LOL and i am a nooby.. well kind of. I like playing Garen because of his tanky/fighter play style and not to mention no MP. I was just wondering if there are any other champions out there that play like him? I was recommended Katarina, but are there any others that can rack up the kills? Also what are the recomended beginner champions that i should play or try out?
Thanks

well right now i have garen, ashe, master yi and trynadmere unlocked. i liek ashe and her range alot, garens is just cool imo, but i suck with master yi, and dont get me started with with trynadmere. im interested in unlocking kat and riven right now but are there any ranged AD or Ap classes that are really worth unlocking?
note: the cheaper thebetter for a newbie like me

Kha'Zix: your Q destroys their HP, W heals/range/small AOE, E is a jump AOE and can be used as Flash, ulti goes invisible
Hi guys, i'm a beginner that just started playing for like 2 weeks, slowly getting the hang of the game. I play ashe and teemo (i play teemo cos its kinda fun having really fast attack speed), and now i'm feeling like playing a mage, so should i buy Ryze or Annie?
Either is fine, though Ryze is seen more at higher levels because he's reliable in the sense that part of his damage comes from his maximum mana count, and building mana-oriented items tends to make him somewhat tanky for a mage, and his skillset allows him to become more oriented towards dps than for burst like most mages. Otherwise, I find Annie a little more fun to play lol.

Alternatively, you can opt for mages like Veigar or Fiddlesticks; both of which are very viable picks for casual fun and both are priced at 1350
Katarina is a very good mid. She is also okay top and bot. Once you figure her out and get fed early game, you can easily kill everyone mid and late game. You can add me on league (Pereeia) if you choose her. I can help you if you'd like.

Riven is also another champ who doesn't use mana. She can be challenging at first, but after playing her for a while you can become really good at her and get lots of kills. She's a top lane champ. She's expensive though.

You should also try to see which lane you like the most (top/mid/bot). This can make picking out champs easier for you.

Kat is 3105 IP, Riven is 6300 IP. Both can be very good. Good luck
Katarina's price is actually 3150 IP. Riven isn't limited to top lane. But can opt to go to mid or jungle as well. Tbh, mid Riven is no joke. It actually counters quite a lot of AP mids. Including Katarina. Why? Well mainly cause Riven has two types of hard CC that can easily disrupt her ulti. Including a stun. A knock back from her third Q. She can also pretty much shield Kat's harrass (Q) by using her shield (E)
Rengar.

Graves, Annie, Malphite, Nunu, Pantheon, Ryze, Sion, Soraka, Taric, Vlad, Warwick, and Zilean are all no-brain champions. Pick your poison.
No Darius?

OT: Fizz is a good one. Just a bit too jumpy.

And Evelynn. Shes awesome

To the people reccomending Riven....no. He's new and Riven has an exceptionally high learning curve for a beginner. He will probably get frustrated playing her, I honestly recommend darius, he's a no brainer champ, fun in the beginning as well.
Riven fights like garen but instead of Hp and tankiness she is mobile and does super damage. Her ulti is like garen but hits multiple people. Problem is she is 6.3K and is only good top.
Despite the price, Riven can also jungle. She's decent at it. Jungler with some sort of Stun is always good.

Shen. He's not exactly the most newbie friendly but he's a great tank that doesn't use mana (instead he has a secondary resource called energy that regens quite quickly provided you don't spam his spells too much at any given time).

If you want a champion that can rack up kills, try Ryze; he's one of the cheapest champions but provided you can farm with him he can be quite strong mid to late game. Additionally with the way most people build to maximize his damage output (lots of mana items, to be specific, as his spells does additional damage depending on your max mana), he can be quite tanky for a mage.

Not really a "How to play Riven Guide" but more like a montage you should watch to inspire you to play Riven and see her potential. http://youtube.com/watch?v=pYnZLFFy7l

Riven?

Riven is my favourite champion Her early game is really strong. When she gets her ulti at level 6 that's when she can burst people down who are roughly 65% assuming you have ignite. The level 6 kill combo goes by this. Ignite/R/Q/AA/Q/AA/Q/AA/W/AA then finish them off with your ulti "Wind Slash" Also not you don't have to follow this combo. Just keep that in mind. Also with Riven you want to Auto attack between skills to proc her passive for more DPS.

people have told me that darius is hated due to his opness, i have no idea who mantheon is, and i heard rengar is good but how do i play him strategically

honestly for top lane learn these four champs and you win everytime: darius, jax, jayce, and irelia. you can carry/counter anyone with those four i believe.

Not kat, def not if you're new.
Try, Darius, irelia, Riven, renekton, rengar, lee sin and shen
Those champs are expensive and they fit your role that you like.
but good beginner champs are.. warwick and malphite maybe olaf.

Riven, similar to Garen, no mana.

IMO, Katarina might be a bit difficult to get the hang of and you're going to get bashed for playing her. I play her myself and if you choose her, I recommend looking up Tiensinoakuma. He is one of the most well known Kat players, along with Scarra.
