To my fellow Australians

Why would people go overseas to Holiday when we have Australia at our doorstep.

For example.

Why would I want to leave this glorios UV ray that we get every damn summer? I mean I get to bathe myself in cancer-free sun! I'm already looking forward to peeling my burnt skin! What about those white Christmas in the US, bah here in Australia you'd be craving for that mouthful of sand, each Christmas mother N delivers sand storms! Don't forget how instead of stepping on snowmen after xmas we get to step on deadly jellyfish! Oh, and how can I not mention how our santas are all cholesterol deprived, I mean they beat all plumpy looking santas any day! Oh and instead of sitting their roasting marshmellows infront of the bonfire, we roast our bodies in the heat, and turn the aircon on max.

So much excitement that even I cannot suppress. Better listen to the slip slop slap sunscreen commercial. Boy o boy!

@DeprivedChild: The only places i want to go outside of Australia are New Zealand Canada and England and where ever the Superbowl is being played that year.

Typical @pleb talk. I go overseas because sometimes sometimes I feel like Melbourne's Chinatown isn't quite enough to say I've experienced China. Nor does the Pizza Hut down the road tell me enough about Italian Cuisine. Golly gee, I can't seem to feel American even after eating 10 Big Macs (Maybe a little). There's much more to see than just Australia's sights in the world. I'm sure you aren't serious but let me feed the troll anyways.

You missed out Byron, sunshine coast and many others that would have been better examples! People don't want to continually holiday in their own country... it gets hella boring after awhile and you want to experience something new...

People don't necessarily go on holidays just to be in a pretty place. Where I stayed 2 years ago was barely a resort but it was really cool experiencing a different place with different people and stuff, basically what Jeff ^ said.

Don't get me wrong those are still pretty cool places but it's much more of an experience going outside of your country.
