Why are you a loser?

I'll tell you, because you guys are pessimistic cynics who see the worst of this world. You guys aren't the "nice guys/gals" that you claim to be.

Because honestly, as long as you're a friendly individual, then there's no reason for people to dislike you.

Most of the popular kids I know may have their dbag tendencies, but for the most part, they're still nice people. No one wants to be around depressed people who whine about our horrific society all the time. Being popular is all about mentality. If you think you're a likable person who is full of self-confidence, you will eventually adopt that mentality and truly become confident and popular.

What's the point in painting the world in such a negative light when there's such beauty around you? Stop focusing on the things that make you depressed, and focus that energy on bettering yourself.

There's always going to be crappy things that happen to us. Just pick yourself up, get over it and continue your day with a smile.

@pr3stig3: but people shouldn't be force to be happy when they're not. there's just something sick and wrong with forcing people to feel a certain way just for to make others happy for personal or professional purposes. if i knew someone was having a bad day, i would try to understand them and attempt to cheer them up or leave them alone, but i wouldn't force them to smile or be cheery if they're not in the mood.
I'm going to frown and treat everyone like crap if I'm having a bad day. People who are always happy for no reason and bundle up all their emotions inside irritate me. Be true to yourself and others. No one should have the right to control people's emotions and tell them when to be happy or sad or what to feel. We are not robots.
Doesn't that only perpetuate a cycle of unfriendliness among people? "If you're mean to me, ill be mean to others".
And of course you should still stay true to yourself, but you can still do that while learning to look more for the silver lining right? Rather than the gloomy clouds?

That is the worst mentality one could ever have.

Speaking from my personal experience, a lot of aspects of life are pretty terrible. I mean, we don't wake up everyday thinking about tripping on a rock, but it happens. Accidents aren't within our predictions, and that's what makes life so terrible sometimes. There are just so many things that we can't accurately predict will happen. But you're right, there is a lot of beauty around us, so obviously the best thing to do would be to pick up ourselves and just continue on. But this advice is not easy to follow. People experience so much negativity in their lives, it's almost as if we're being manipulated into thinking that this "journey" is full of nothing but badness and mayhem. Sure, a positive attitude is one of the best things to have, but the reality is obtaining and maintaining such a mindset is one of the most difficult tasks for a lot of people.

I totally agree with that sentiment, expect sometimes things are just out of our control, and there's nothing we can do about it. You can't move forward without going backwards, but it doesn't mean you need to let that moment of failure consume you.

On a srs note, you should actually pay attention to what OP is saying. Definitely good advice.

Your words fall upon deaf ears, though I do agree with you.

But being a pessimistic cynic is fun. Especially when you force misery onto other people and get them angry enough to make threads like this.

In my school, you either have to be pretty looking, athletic, or funny and if you aren't then no one will talk to you.

Popular more in the sense of being liked by your fellow peers than being #1 in social standings. Cynical pessimists are fun for like the first few minutes because of their jarring sarcasm... Then you realize they were being serious and wants everyone to die
I embrace the fact that I'm a terrible person and often use it to my advantage.

But that only pushes people away though. Is that part of your goal?

@bearodactyl: lol you really think any of the words I used needed a thesaurus?

@RebornRH: sure, physical appearances will always permeate our society, but I'd bet 9 times out of 10 your class president probably isn't the best looking person in school. And I'm not calling all of Basil losers, but just trying to get them to stop being so negative.
