pc building questions

Canadian prices please
I'm planning on building a new PC around October and intend to use it for GTAV and upcoming Star Wars Battlefront. As a result, I have the following questions:
Will $800 CAD be enough to build a solid PC or will I need more? (Really want to avoid dishing out more money as I'm a student in debt, etc)

I have the following build from late 2011, is it worth upgrading instead of building a whole new PC? AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHz 8gb RAM (2x2x2) AMD Radeon HD 6770 Western digital 500gb Asus M5A87 Corsair Builder Series CX500 V2 Thermaltake v4 Case

If I build a new PC what can I do with my old PC? (Family doesnt need another PC and I'm pretty sure no one would want to buy it)

P.S I know i've asked similar questions to these here before

I would definitely build a better pc or at least upgrade.

Here's an $800 canadian build I came up with:

will run all games high/ultra with great frame rates.

It would definitely be cheaper to upgrade. To upgrade you'll need a new motherboard, an i5 cpu, a new video card, probably a new power supply unit to replace your aging one (or your could risk re-using the one you have, its up to you). You could probably get away with reusing the RAM if its a 2x4GB kit, and reusing the hard drive and case. So really just 4 things to buy if you want to upgrade: Motherboard, CPU, Video Card, and Power Supply.
