I have heard that they only planned 25 episodes, and they have reached #25, but they left it open, is there any word on whether it will continue?

The light novel is a book, mostly text with a few illustrations, there are 10 books i think so far out right now. And the manga on mangapanda is the remake in the manga version of SAO, adapted from the light novel, and it looks really badly done....

OT : Since the story with the world seed is left untold it's likely that there will be a Season 2.
@shadow1412: Why not just download SAO to watch ?
OT : Only way of knowing is to check the Sao official twitter post and website frequently.
Season 1 is definitely finished.
Season 2... is possible.
