Because I know that Sat scores come/came out today

Hello everyone! I was up with my younger brother at 5:00 AM to check his SAT scores, so I've been reminded of the reality-check that standardized tests provide when you get the results.

For students in University who are going to be Juniors with a plan to enter a field in medicine, are you guys preparing for the MCAT this Summer? I have Summer courses that I have to take as a Physics pre-med student, but I think it would be wise to prep for the MCAT NOW, because most people take it during Junior year.

I'm having a tough time with the biological section....I'm a Physics major with a very critical-thinking based mind, so physical sciences like Chemistry and Physics are easier for me than something like Biology. Any tips for the biological section? Thanks!

Also, feel free to ask about SAT stuff or whatever too, I still remember taking that lol.
i'm entering my junior year and i'll be taking the mcat probably after my junior year while using the summer to prep for it. as far as I know, studying this far in advance usually doesn't help because you probably just won't have to motivation to power through practice tests and review books so far before taking the test, but I guess your case is different if you haven't received a good background for the biology section. if you're trying to learn the material rather than review it, now would be a good time. personally i'll probably start studying in the spring because I will not have finished biochem and sociology until then for the 2015-2016 mcat.
Do you even have any idea what kind of stuff they are going to ask for the humanities portion of the exam?
Because I got credit for our intro psych class and don't have room in my schedule to take some BS humanities class.

I'm a rising sophomore in university so I'm not even worried about MCAT studying just yet.
One of my majors is Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry so I have to really go in depth with Physics, Biology, and Chemistry anyways for my major. I think I'll be pretty damn prepared once it comes time to study. I probably won't take the exam until my senior year because I planned on taking a year or two off before I applied to med schools.

Many of my friends are taking the LSATs and MCATs after this summer, so during this summer they are taking intensive courses that focus on the material of the exams. I can't vouch for their effectiveness, but I'm certain something like that would keep you focused and confident in material you used to be iffy in.

Oh, cool. I am a Biology Major with a plan to enter the field of medicine. Most people start studying for their MCAT's sophomore year. MCAT's will change next year, so from what I know it is best to take them this year. It will be longer, and harder next year from what I know. Funny, I am better with biology than I am with physics/chem.

I have no idea whats in MCAT bio section, but if it is just blind memorization, consider using Quizlet as study aid. Create your own questions, and REPHRASE the answers instead of blindly copying them from text. I used to fail my bio exams in college, but once I came up with this method, my exams never went below 90%.

You're not going to get much MCAT help here considering the demographic of this website so try looking for another forum. I know there are a couple of people who went through med school on here but I'm not sure if they're active anymore.

As for more standardized testing, I'm going to need to take the GRE or the LSAT in a few years. </3
