Are trade schools any good?

my yahoo answers account got suspended so im asking it here.
I'm a junior in high school this fall and I'm unsure about my future. i consider myself a smart person, im a year ahead in math, but I don't like the idea of going to college, coming out with debt, and possibly not even getting employed for years. i think i could handle getting a scholarship into a trade school and doing well but i dont know a lot about it. do any of you have experience with going to a trade or vocational school? how easy is it to get a job afterwards and do they pay well?
