Best way to approach zakum

How should you go about killing the arms of zakum? Can dragon strike hit both sides? or is it better to demo-spam them? I have max demo and DS. I want my first zak run on this char (and also a solo lol) to be as smooth as possible.

EDIT: Just finished. I found that demoing the left side and DSing the right side worked best. 33 min solo

@Tricks122 and @Quaisy2 it would be the oldest mob within Demolition range.
So it will only hit the flying mobs if:
- Zakum flashes 1/1 while you cast Demolition
- Zakum changes bodies while there are spawns

For me, he usually summons at the end of a Demolition, or if earlier you'd be able to see it coming to prepare yourself for a Dragon Strike to clear the summoned mobs immediately that will hinder your Demolition in later bodies.

Another way to be rid of the already airborne spawns are by using Energy Orb, since the center of Zakum is just below his eye, that's where it will bounce from when you hit him, so it's pretty high but if you're facing right, then it will only hit airborne mobs to the right of Zakum. If you want to be able to hit in both directions then you'd have to stand on Zakum so you can turn around quickly (ofcourse Energy Charge would be on so you'd have stance and touch damage, and Revenge too at the cost of more potions).

Just keep an eye on them when they dive down, it's better to use Energy Orb when you know your Demolition would only hit a spawnling; it can save a lot of time.

Yes, Tricks was right. My way is basically take care of the curse arm, go to the right side and work counter-clockwise. As for Demolition, it indeed does attack the older mobs. Just like at Zakum, if there are mobs that Zakum1 has summoned, and you kill Zakum1, your next target for Demolition is one of those mobs (if they are in range of course). I found this out quite a while ago and mentioned it to Tersera too.

@Quaisy2 Are you certain? I know something like that comes into effect, although I can't remember exactly what it is. Whenever I clear summons at Zak after it switches bodies I seem to be fine with having my Demo solely target him, so perhaps it locks on to the first mob it hits if said mob is the most recently spawned(And assuming still alive after the Demo)? Just my guess anyways, I'm sure someone knows the actual mechanic behind it.

@Tricks122: I'm fairly certain demo doesn't attack the most recent spawned monster. At LHC it's fairly consistent in attacking 1 mob even if mobs spawn in front of it.

@Quaisy2 I'm fairly certain that he means the platform that touches the second lowest arm. You'll take touch damage(Hence why you'd Charge first for 90% Stance) and then DS would be able to hit the lowest arm on the left. Also, a trick Tersera mentioned a while ago; Demo will target the most recent mob spawned on a map. So if Zakum summons, until Zakum changes bodies you don't need to kill the summons. But cycling and killing the summons once he does will make it so he is the most recent spawn, and Demo will ignore all the summons to solely hit Zakum.

Personally, I hate bosses that are dormant. No fun unless there's a risk of actual failure involved, makes you feel good when you actually accomplish it that way.
Oooh you have a similar tactic as I do. I demo the 2nd lower left arm (curse/seal arm) then move to the right side and get energy charged with ds. Then I move the left edge of the larger bottom platform, and ds so the lower left arm gets hit. The remaining arms would be easily figured out. Also, congratz on your solo!
What do you mean, "left edge of the larger bottom platform"? From the middle platform on the right side, DS hits all 4 arms, but only the bottom arm around 50% of the time.

And thanks for the grats everyone!

I wish zak was more dormant like it was when chaos first arrived. Where it rarely 1/1d, canceled, sealed, etc. Now he's a pain. I hate how demo sometimes targets some of the flying mobs too. LF> BULLSEYE!

if super transform is maxed just spam demo if not ur going to have to alternate between demo spam and ds. Try to kill curse arm first. Good luck on Zak.
