my mom says that i have acne because my face shanghuo'd from eating spicy ramen. what is shanghuo and is there an english equivalent?

Literally, it means "set on fire."

Figuratively, in this case it means you ate too much spicy stuff and got burned.

Now that I think about it, I actually don't know to translate that accurately. I guess you can say "fired up". It can be used when you get zits on your face, nosebleed, holding anger, etc.
