I switched from my 207 DB who hits about 20-30m fully buffed to a NW and He's not 100% complete as my DB, but he does a bit more around 28-30m, moved all it's gears. I have sort of regrets but I still like NWs.
Pros of NW:
- slightly better ranged than DB
- Bats can hit full/half map
- Shadow illusion is pretty cool summoning 3 other Shadow partners
- Training is much faster than DB
- Back step is very useful if you know how to use it at bosses/Super vertical jump

Cons of NW:
- Recharge stars
- 2nd tier emblem
- Can't move untradeable gears from DB

Pros of DB:
- Fast game play, fun to boss with
- Asura.
- Godly avoid/Mirror target gives 100% crit (useful for soloing bosses)

Cons:
- Not amazing trainers
- Final cut makes me die at alot of bosses
- not as much range as you need
- Requires alot of funding to keep up with other classes
- Always have to get close to bosses which can kill you really quickly (von bon, cvell.)

Damage numbers for both classes are on that page. With jump casting, NW will do about 2.2x as much dps to bosses with physical resistance. A jump casting NW does slightly more hits/s than DB as well. In short, NW is much stronger than DB until they are both near capping.

make one and find out for yourself. i wouldve regretted using 12k of nx to transfer equips over. my nw was semi funded from 1-140, but after that i just got tired and bored of my night walker.

Pros of DB : More lines / rush skills
Pros of NW : Better DPS / More mobility (backstep, rocket-type boost) / Less expensive after NW hype dies down.

night walker mobbing is good until that star system update and the bats lose two bounces so they are still good but will be a little slower at mobbing. but i found a db to be more fun for me because of the diversity of attacks instead of just quint throw,stardust and the occasional dark omen.

Nw trains rather quickly with funding. I was quite surprised at how effective the bats are when they OHKO mobs. At SH one stardust and a bat is enough to kill for me, so I can just stand in the center and cast to each side to solo the map rather efficiently. Even with low funding, NW has longer attack range and higher mobbing DPS than DB, so NW is better at training high levels at any funding level.

As far as bossing is concerned NW completely outclasses DB. They have similar DPS when NW isn't jump casting, but DB has more hits/s. Jump casting NW does significantly higher DPS and has higher hits/s. NW's 50% ignore resistance also gives a tremendous advantage at bosses with resist physical.

NW is objectively better to me, but play whatever you find fun, man.

Go NW need less DBs.

if you straight out boss only: night walker.
if you want to boss and train: dual blade
