What do you do for fun in maple?
I recently came back and have just been merching a bit. I'm trying spark a stronger interest in maple that isn't just bossing daily and afk until the next day.
I've been in 2 guilds since I came back and both of them have active players but no one talks to anyone. No buddies either.

IGN Doudyslayer is looking for a female character with cute nx to help fund him and make other males jealous of his styles and talents.
I buy a lot of NX to increase my range.

Kinda hard to say something that definitive, without any caveats or qualifications, about something that's inherently and entirely subjective by its very nature...
This is a 10 year old consistently growing, successful and profitable 2d side scrolling mmorpg. lol.
I log on and stay logged in pretty much every moment I can be...but I rarely pay any attention to the game. I occasionally scroll through chat for anything relevant and try to stay within reach if guild needs help since I agreed to be a jr...
Uh, I also enjoy running around fm. I enjoy merching...not because I want a ton of money per se, but more so I can buy something that interests me(normally some sort of nx, collectible item or chair/mount) when I see it and figure out if its worth it. I like to go bossing, though normally only with guilds or with someone new/low level that needs someone to help them kill. I'm not really interested in drops so it works out for both...I have fun bossing and feeling helpful and they get the kill and the drops to help them out.
Friends and chatting with them are by far my biggest motivation for playing the game in anything remotely resembling regularity. I've always said that to me Maplestory is more of a glorified chat program with slightly more creative means of encouraging interaction with your friends and finding new ones. Been playing since 2005 and friends are the only thing I've consistently been able to expect from Maplestory. Nexon doesn't hesitate to change everything at any time for the better or worse...and they love changing the rules without rhyme or reason without explanation or notice. It's not the game it was when I started or that it was 7 years ago or 5 years ago or 3 years ago...so yeah, learning to make friends and keep friends is prolly the biggest skill set to have if you want to play the game a lot.
You're part of the problem of this game, just saying lel.

@aeswag: That's not necessarily what I meant. Honestly anything can be a waste of time as it's mostly subjective. Entertainment in general is just to waste time.
@Radiqal: Not to me. Yes, a game is a waste of time if it takes over your life but if you can limit yourself then it's not really any more of a waste of time than T.V or Movies.
@SadVirgin: That's not a bad idea. Can you recommend some? I only know of the one with John.
I personally hate JQs so I'm not one to seek them out, but I remember there being one or two in Kerning, Shumi's coin or whatever. Then Lith and Sleepywood.
I believe there is one in Ellinia as well but I could be wrong. Ah the one with the monkeys.
Lists of them:

The level reqs are probably wrong, but you get the idea.

Log off.

If you really hate yourself you could go do jump-quests.
This is kinda weird and honestly a waste of time but when I want to play Maple but also just relax I go to either ToT or the Labyrinth and just go back and fourth through all the maps on each channel and mine heartstones, veins, etc. to try and get primals, rose clippings, wisdom crystals, and most importantly cubes.
Games in general are considered a waste of time, but as long as you aren't bored when doing it...

After years of just grinding and working to get my range up I forgot what fun means anymore.
I can not give much more advice then what you are doing currently. I am working towards completing some goals. This involves training and bossing.
Set goals for yourself that you want to accomplish and enjoy doing. If you need examples, I could list some of mine down.
do it
Set goals for yourself that you want to accomplish and enjoy doing. If you need examples, I could list some of mine down.
