Switch to Cannonner?
So ive had my corsair ever since pre-bb and now a days i cant even bare to play as him any longer. I dont have a problem with the playstyle or anything i actually find it kind of fun...the thing is im 140 and I cant do anything to level anymore. Corsairs have horrible Hp, (only have about 9000 hp unbuffed and around 10k if jack comes out but thats nothing more then a gamble. On top of that i dont have the fundings to help increase his hp ) Crappy defense, and a unstable damage range. (Having to rely on Roll of the Dice, Summons, and Pirates revenge to get maxium damage output). I can barley train due to having such low hp and crappy defense, it takes around 3-4 hits if im lucky before im dead. The thing is im considering using my Job advance coin and becoming a cannon master. Cannon Masters have a more stable damage output, an awesome 150 hyper (my corsairs already 140 so i wouldnt be that far off), has a party buff, and a debuff which makes him a better party support then a Corsair, better Def, and has Better Hp. The only thing stopping me from actually going along with it, is that my current equips would be useless since cannon Masters use Str instead of Dex (Total of 27% dex would be lost) and i would have to purchase whole new masterybooks. So fellow pirates, should i go along with the switch?

@LightsCS: Wow really? So it stacks with %str then. My bad, I was under the impression that it only added a flat amount. Thanks for the correction!

Oh man i just made the switch to cannon with my job advancement coin, SO FUN. I was so fed up with corsairs, one of the most potion hungry classes.
Do it.
Whenever I was playing corsair, it was quite squishy compared to when playing my cannoneer. You're highly likely to survive much more better than a corsair. Training will also be alot easier using Bazooka, since it has big range horizontally, and does quite some damage. I'd say go for the switch!
@Zoro, the party buff gives +60 all stats, and 1000 HP and MP after you max out Mega Monkey Magic. It's very useful to all classes, and is a great support buff. I get +250 str alone just from MMM.
Things to note:
Cannoneers are only slightly tankier than Sairs, and with the Sairs 150 hyper they more or less have the same survivability.
Cannoneers party buff isn't that useful since its basically just +40allstat, and I'm fairly sure than their debuff doesn't work on bosses, so aren't really better at support than sairs.
I would still make the change though. Bazooka has so much better range than ELE and their hypers are cooler.
191 Cannoneer with about a 27k buffed hp, without decent hyper body (or my passive 15% hp hyper), idk if thts high, but i have various set effects (fafnir, gollux) and random % max hp, also max character card (700 hp X3). If i wanted to i could get Beast Tamer's link skill (7% max hp) and also Kaisers (15% max hp), as well as Dark Knights Character Card (4%hp).
Im a 180 Cannoneer and I have a 13k HP.
@Ya0iHandz yea, im in the same boat as you. love my Corsair to death buts its pretty hard to do anything with the class due to its issue. Perhaps i should make the switch. Thanks for the advice
