If you cannot LOG IN try this.
Really guys, it's not that hard. Open your MapleStory folder where you installed it (usually C: drive). Once you have opened it, there should be a file called "GameLauncher". Double-click on it. Soon the old launcher should pop-up on your screen. Click play, and the game should start up. From there you log on directly to the game using your ID and password like in the old days. Even -Hime- recommended this to a player experiencing the same problems you are having on the Nexon forums. LOG IN FROM THE WEBSITE USING YOUR EMAIL, IT WORKS 100%. I tried it on one of my accounts that wouldn't let me log in, and ta-da, it worked.

Yeah I had that problem before they re-did the log-in portal. I closed the MapleStory internet window before I chose my server and it gave me the "Trouble logging into the game?" in which I had to restart Maplestory and leave Firefox open.
I tried this; it does [b]not[/b] work.
I've also tried logging in with my email and changing my password like some people have suggested and they both failed as well.
This I believe this is Nexon's fault and they need to fix it, now. I'm not one to usually blame them for everything either but seriously it needs to be done. We shouldn't have to find solutions around this stupid problem.

I redownloaded maplestory and it didn't help at all.

welll i had that same problem on a mule acc then i just put my email in the logg in screen same pw and i was able to logg in lol*

Well, it's been working for me. Maybe you have something in your folder blocking it from properly starting. I'd try reinstalling MapleStory and trying this again if you want to.
I get a different error. I log in through gamelauncher and it dc's me as soon as I log in. My screen goes black and it gives me a windows error report "Maplestory isn't responding". Or something along the lines. . .When I try to log in from the site it tells me to download maplestory and when I did download it, it tells me to do it again.
I've already tried that my screen just goes black for a few seconds and just closes out with no messages now what?
