Crew Leader question

Can you quit being a crew leader? Im trying to add someone into my crew because he said he will get to level 100 in a few hours, and i couldn't add him, then he checked his main and created a crew by accident. Just wondering if there is any way to quit being leader. (i am not quiting leader just to clearify, just trying to find the answer for him)
