Choosing crit rate over Att %
Hi there, I recently recube my emblem's normal potential. It use to be 21% Att and 6% all stats. I ended choosing this over the former: http://i.imgur.com/ImO3xHt.jpgMy question is, was it a smart move? I manage to get my crit rate up to 97%, which goes well with my tyrant gloves pot, which gives me an extra 15% max crit. But I haven't actually done the math so I'm still not sure whether or not it was a win or a loss.
I have 87% att with my new emblem btw. And here's the weapon and secondary's potential: http://imgur.com/MMJTQgX,3bIFZ6N

You should have left the potential as is and just re-rolled your inner ability for attack speed or % crit
Make sure to maximize all other areas to get crit. One line might be okay but you really want the %atk.
what's your Max/Min Crit? 120%~165%?
if so, you went from [0.76*(1.2+1.65)/2]+0.24 = 1.323 to [0.97*(1.2+1.65)/2]+0.03 = 1.41225
that's a 6.746% increase in dmg
you went from 99% Atk to 87% Atk if you stated that correctly
that's a 1-1.87/1.99 => 6.03% decrease
so overall that's 1.06746*0.9397 = 1.003, or a 0.3% increase in dmg
so barely worth mentioning.
though as mentioned, if you don't have come sources of %Crit that sorta readily available (Hyper, Phantom, BT), then you probably want to drop a 9% Crit (not that you can easily control that)
also, dropping 9% Crit for 9% Atk now would be 1.97% increase in dmg overall (and allows more room for more %Crit from other sources)
Try to drop the Critical Rate 9% and replace with ATT 12% or ATT 9%. I believe you don't have a Beast Tamer so when the class does reopen, you'll get Critical Rate 7% from it anyway. Once you are over Critical Rate 90%, only 1-2 damage lines won't be criticals here and there.
Think of your critical rate as a kind of secondary mastery. It stabilizes your damage, and the closer you are to reaching cap the more important it becomes because while %Atk will increase your damage floor, it will do nothing for your damage ceiling at cap. So if you can still increase your range from other sources I'd keep it.
