Have you ever caught a Catfish?
Urban Dictionary Definition of Catfish:
A catfish is someone who pretends to be someone they're not, using Facebook or other social media to create false identities, particularly to pursue deceptive online romances.
As many of us maplers know, there are a number people who lie about their identity.
Many of us become somewhat close enough with our maple friends to share contact info (twitter, instagram, skype, facebook, etc.), especially when people "maple date." Have any of you guys ever suspect someone of a fake identity?
Some Catfish clues:
Doesn't like to talk on phone/skype
Makes up traumatic events in his/her life to avoid communicating
Not many friends on Facebook
Defensive/Over-reacts to claims about their identity
From my experience, I only dealt with one, but I'm curious to know what you guys have seen.

I'm a guy o.o
WAIT IM KIDDING PLEASE NO ONE TAKE THAT SERIOUSLY
OT: I don't think I have. Honestly I wouldn't really care too much if they weren't who they said they were as long as they don't try to get something out of me. If I enjoy talking to them, then it's fine! If they try to steal my money though, I'll be pretty upset.
No. I've seen photos/skyped with all my internet friends. All of them have been pretty willing too. If they weren't I would have probably dropped the friendship.
Yes. There are plenty. There was one on basil recently.
