Guys Using Girl Characters with Nx

Does anyone find it weird that a guy would spend 10k NX+ or buy Perm-NX for a girl character's appearance (changing hair/eyes, buying clothes, etc.)?
I heard that some do this to flirt for items and such, but there are also some that openly say that they're a male too... I've met several of them already. I understand some guys make a girl character for boredom, but why would one spend the money to dress it up?

Dressing up avatars is relatively cheap now, mostly because you can buy clothes with mesos.
My boyfriend does it sometimes simply because the hairs/eyes that are released usually favor the girls' side. He doesn't flirt with anyone, he just plays.

@StinkyFlower:

It's not really as simple as that for most people here. I'm sure many of them has confident/ self-confidence issues so they find it a lot easier to mingle with others while hiding behind a screen. All in all, it's pretty risky to have relationships through a game, it's not something I'd try.

Good point. There's nothing wrong with online relationships, but like you said, they're aren't many time you can actually meet others in person, which opens opportunities to exploit. This can all be related back to gold diggers on maple (or perceived by some as).
I see no problem either, the only thing that annoys me is when those 12-14 year olds are making promises like "4ever2getha" etc, when they' cant even look after themselves, nor have the means to maintain one.

usually when it's for gold digging purposes it's very necessary because you gotta start somewhere in order to captivate the teenage boy who is so naive and only wants a little luv

@Kalemora:

It's not even that, it's the fact that when people here a guy playing a girl character, they automatically assume that he's a gold digger.
It's more of what people think about it which has given it a negative reputation, it sucks for some, but it's something you really can't change.

Angelic Buster is the only female character I have, but out of the fact it's gender locked, not out of choice.

L>Mangelic Busters.

I'm male and I have lots of characters, male and female, and I dress them all in NX. I want them all to look different, like their own individual characters.

Do you find it weird playing female characters in games? Do you feel awkward when you're raiding tombs as Lara Croft, casting spells as Bayonetta, kicking zombie ass as Jill Valentine? No? Then why is this any different?

One of the best points about maplestory is the fact that the characters are so customizable, not a lot of MMOs offer this much customizations (especially in regards to female characters, it's usually all ugly revealing super sexualized clothing), so why not take advantage of it instead of being judgmental?

I live in San Francisco so I totally support whatever urges you guys have online.

There's no shame in cross dressing.

Personally, there are girls I know who play as male characters at times. Like how Trissa has ten characters and only ONE of them is a girl character, but she has nine guy characters.....I'm speechless. o.o

Because females have more choices of hair/faces and get more interesting outfits.
yeah, guys are way more badass
Badass? I'd say 99% of the guys in this game are homophobic cowards & immature, well they are kids, that have no sense or lack entirely of tolerance for anything but their own preferences.

Iunno, when I made my shadower I decided she was going to be female because I designed the nx look around a female haircut

It does not matter, if you feel like a class should be x gender who cares, people play this game for fun/rolepaly or other reasons, not only to flirt/money dig at all.

I am a guy so what, I openly accept it and I have a gf too, and she has her reasons to make male chars/female chars, I make both as well and I have no care of what others think or say.

And of course I am going to nx it, at least the hairs/faces, clothes I just dont care enough.

Well, I don't think that would be weird if they are obsessed with avatar outfits, and that character's artwork depicts a girl. I mean, I almost spent nx on my kanna so that her level 100 clothes could be anviled on to more powerful gear.

Well, my friend made a girl character, and he gets tons of discounts on stuff and buys nx at like 1:50 w/o scam... So, if you think about it, its actually worth it.
